Look, Alex’s command grabs may be slow, but they have better reach than his regular grab. They CAN’T be teched out of, CAN’T be parried. If they try to jump out, you sweep them, HP them or f.HP them. If you get thrown out of Powerbomb, then you obviously got too slow throwing it out. You didn’t put the fear in them to try and not do anything. You’re too focused on his Powerbomb when you need to think about his other tools.

The point of Alex is that he isn’t strictly a grappler or a zoning character. He is essentially a “hybrid” character that tends to focus on rushdown and mixups. They made his powerbomb slow for the sake of highlighting his other options in mixup games. He has two more command grabs, one that can only be dodged low and one that can be blocked but does RIDICULOUS stun damage. You have to know what makes these moves good in certain situations, otherwise you’re asking for buffs on a character you don’t really know how to play.

For the record, all three versions of C&DB(LK-12 frames, MK-13, HK-14) are slower than ANY of Alex’s Powerbombs(LP-7 frames, MP-8, HP-9). Why should Alex have a 2-frame Powerbomb? Just because Q’s command grab reaches farther? Do you even know how far Alex’s Powerbomb reaches?

The point is isolating one thing about a character is a terrible way of analyzing the game. It tells you nothing about how things play out in real play. What we do know is that his powerbomb is used plenty as is and functions totally fine.

Alex – SA1 becomes 2 bar, Throws become 1 frame like Hugo’s, SA2 throw never whiffs after second hit, 1250 defense. SA3 is 1 bar, gains significant strength, tracking . Alex would finally have wake-up defense options while retaining bar for EX.

Sean – Second Impact links and chains with SI Shoryuken. if not, Dragon Smash gains priority in front (shoulder leve) and over head with shoryu equivalent startup speed, Tackle gains faster startup , and gains projectile invincibility (pass-through), Tornado kick gains faster startup and recovery, SA1 becomes unblockable 2-hit stun. Tackle could be used as a fireball counter.

Twelve – Increased character defense to 1200, higher priority normals, higher damage normals. Faster personal action startup.
