What would sfxt be like with a 1v1 mode?

What if it were CvS2 style…

Just make CvS3 already!

Nina would be the best character in a SF4 style fight. Good footsies, good damage, and focus dash cancel combos!

Yes, but still USELESS unless up close IMO. Zoners would just rape her side ways and what not. Too many bad matchups. But if your “that” good,(which i’m not) then I guess you could make it work. But yeah your definitely right on the damage and CADC stuff. I need to start incorparating that in my rushdown. Her CADC is just as good as ryu’s(Again up close of course)

That would be very interesting to see
To me it seem like some characters wouldnt live unless they had a partner

They should look into that have a 2v2 then separate 1v1 mode that would have re-balance the hell out of but it would work
I would love UMVC3 to have 1v1

The mode wouldn’t work honestly. Someone earlier mentioned that you’d die in two combos and it’s true. What’s also true is you’d need to overhaul the balance, remove the chains, remove the boost combos, and perhaps change some move properties. It can’t just be a mode, it’d have to be a whole new game, and the Cross Art and Pandora mechanics might have to be removed altogether, or changed drastically. It’s nice to think of what it would be like with one, and sometimes I wish (like in MVC3 missions I think?) there would be a special mode where you can do 1v1 for the heck of it, but it’d be so half assed in this game.

The tag system works in this game and I’m a big fan of it. Cross assault is good both with the CPU and with a human player, and the RnK guys have showed how majestic you can get with cross assault. It’s also why happy birthdays are possible and why Scramble battle works too. Essentially, SFxT works as a tag game in all ways, but 1v1 just doesn’t make sense beyond just playing with your first character, which would honestly just die in two combos. So yeah I admit it sounds kinda cool but for it to work it would have to be a completely different game, or at least a fleshed out mode.

I would like it more if it was 1v1. It wouldn’t need balancing at all considering I’ve seen timeout matches where no one was tagged out yet. If it was 1v1, no one would be rushing to get the win in and it would be just like ssf4 but with chain combos.

I would love ratio mode even more. A survival mode too even.

I’d much rather see it like TTT2 - choice between tag or solo, with the two options balanced w each other through ratio

Kill yourself :coffee:

Just here to reiterate that having the option would be interesting, but it should not at all be the core game, period. The game was built to be 2v2; it seriously would just be modified SF4 if they changed it to 1v1, and I’d likely not play it nearly as much.

You edited your post before I could get on you about seeing SFxT better as 1v1 then saying UMvC3 can’t be 1v1. :razzy: Not that I disagree mind you, because that’s the way Marvel is built. Same goes for SFxT.

Dude the computer I was on was double posting me and fuckin up my shit like crazy.

But yeah, I do think this game would be a lot funner if it was 1v1, or maybe even like Skullgirls where you could choose between 1 normal character or 2 nerfed characters. Probably because I like SF4 a lot more than SFxT.

Ah, I C. Fair enough.

I just had a small tourney together with some friends in this game. It got boring quick. Mainly because of the constant dropped juggle comboes and the accidental launchers. I would looooove a 1v1. Even a ratio match to fight 2 vs 1 ot vise-versa like the last boss would be fun. But if we do get a 1 vs 1, the launcher has to be dash cancellable to be able to do something after it to make it useful since no one would be tagging in. Also for pandora in 1vs1, when it is done, the player shouldn’t die BUT his/or super meter should be disabled for the rest of the round. To the ppl saying certain characters would dominate, I disagree. If that was the case, they would be dominating already in 2 vs 2.

I’m tired of 1v1 games. It’s so overdone. More variables, more to think about. Gogogo.

Multiple characters / assists really helps keep the game from running into the same dry 1v1 matchup “who beats who” concepts of typical fighters.

I did this thread a long time ago LOL

ST you can die in two combos but no one will say that game sucks…D:

… Isn’t this thread dead yet? >.>
