What was your first fighting game and where?

Mine was

Karate Championship for NES

then when I was old enough to to see over an arcade board SF2WW on arcade

Karate Champinship I played on my NES at home cause my big bro had it.

And SF2 was at the local arcade/hang out in my town I’m not sure which name it had then because around the time SF2 first came out the owner decided to change the name of the place so it was called either Atlantis or Funworld.

Man I loved that game being like 5 years old and getting win streaks 10+. Older people would dawg the hell out of there friends when they would lose to me. I really didn’t care I just wanted to play the game. I would only have 3 dollars or something and i would make those 3 bucks last. You gotta remember also $3 to a 5 yr old is a lot of money and being as I would win more then lose that was all I needed.

Art of Fighting 1;my snes

sf2. some random arcade.

SF 2. me and my brother rented it when we first got our snes back in 94. played constantly and never took it back. we told our mom, we lost the game, since she didnt even know what we were playing anyways. and I still own the same copy

burger king. og sf2 i was prolly 7 years old

some middle aged dude was playing blanka i was playing ryu. i didnt know any special moves and i kept running into his electricity :’(

now blanka is my best friend

I use to have that problem also when SF2 first came out. This guy I use to always lose to because of that until I find out you could just sweep him out of it.

my introduction to fighting games was back in 92 when i was like 9. greenleaf market - on the corner of greenleaf and caldwell in compton. they had SF2-CE, and MK in a secluded area of the store. me and my older cousin would go everyday faithfully just to play. he was more into MK, where as to i got into SF.
it was funny too, cus back then, cap and midway had like mad beef. remember that commercial promoting street fighter 2. blanka’s hand explodes from the sf case, and crushes the mortal kombat case next to it? HA! memories…

Everything up to hear is exactly the same ^^. The first fighter I actually played constantly against human players was Primal Rage and Eternal Champions though.

damn, i remember arcades were the shit back then. it was like the main hangout for everyone after school/. good thing, the crew i was hangin out with were all SF junkies and would skip school sometimes just go to the arcade. my freinds were always trying to figure out how to makea stick from the snes controller. good times…
when double impact came out for DC, me and my freinds threw in all of our money and got 2 of those cheap ass sticks, the orange ones with the JAP style stick/ it was horrible, haha

double dragon

NES Karate Champ

or barring that, SNES SF2

Street Fighter II Champion Edition…

Still one of my favorites.

Street Fighter 2 in like 1992. Went up-state during the summer and there it was, miles of forest in the middle of nowhere and a Street Fighter cabinet.

SF1 which i had on commodore 64

One day while looking in a game magazine I saw Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter. I’d never saw it before and for some reason I HAD to have this game. I went to my local EB Games and they said they didn’t have it. After looking in the used bin I found it and bought it (maybe the bastard didn’t tell me because he wanted it who knows, I hate him). I fell in love with that game. That and finding other people who liked 2D fighters got me way into the scene

MvC2, 2000-01?, Fun o Rama…

Never left since lol

sf2 turbo was my very first fight mvc2 opened my eyes to the competitive aspect of fighting games.

I think it was sf2 at Aladdin’s Castle…

Street Fighter Alpha @ Echo Bowl (defunct) in Glendale, WI… God, 7th grade summer was awesome.

SF2. I learned how to strat (against the computer) when I saw a guy beat claw by dragon punching him out of the air every time. Oddly enough, the first real competition I remember in fighting games was Primal Rage. There had to be at least a decent scene for that game here, cause I used to go to Tilt and there would be mad people playing it and I had no clue what I was doing and got beat a lot.
