What was the/your first fighting game?

Fairly simple question, and i think the answer might be Yie Ar Kungfu. Or was it Karateka for the C64, that was the first i ever witnessed anyway. Both were released in 1985 i think. What was your first fighting game?

Urban Champion. It came with my Famicom and I played it all the time until I had money to buy another game.

Can’t remember if it was SF2(on the Amiga, not the crazy bad version though) or Mortal Kombat, or possibly World Heroes(there was, strangely enough, an arcade machine with that in a public bath)…

I’d guess Mortal Kombat actually, I really loved that when I was young.

as far as i can remember, sf2 world warrior at the arcade. do rock’m sock’m robots count?

KoF 97 :china:

can’t remember

SF2 snes

can’t remember exactly, i can’t remember if it was sf1 or 2 in which I struggled inputting the hadoken command at the time.

SF 2 world warrior in a corner store in saginaw, michigan!

Damn thats almost Tiger Handheld Mortal Kombat level.

My first was Street Fighter II: World Warrior. Yeah, oldskool son. I actually I was like 7 and mashed buttons and jumped around when I did a special move.

Karate Champ NES. Used to beat my cousin’s ass all day at it.

SF2 WW was when it got serious though.

Art of Fighting and SF2:CE

SF2:WW at local 7-11 when it first came out.

Karate Champ on NES.

First game ever played? SF2 probably.

First fighter taken seriously? DOA2U…

There was a good version on the Amiga?

Was that not the Dhalsim rapes everyone version?

My first fighting game was IK+ on C64.

I wasn’t old enough back then so I didn’t play sf2 as my first fighter. My first fighter was Marvel vs. Capcom in 99. My first street fighter game was Alpha 2.
