What truly makes someone a scrub?

This isn’t scrubby. You used something in the game, the player dropped his combo despite the risk of you mashing Ultra and paid the price. The other player is the scrub because he blamed YOU for his loss, when he should have recognized that “Hey, he has ultra, he just might mash it…” and went for his combo anyway, when he could have baited you while you basically said to hell with it and took a chance…

A scrub could actually be a pretty decent player. He or she just doesn’t look farther than the surface to improve, choosing instead to blame anything but themself

Pringles refers to being easy to break, flimsy. If someone attack is pringles, it’s easy to break it and stop it. If someone’s defense is pringles, it’s easy to penetrate. If someone’s execution is pringles, it’s poor and likely inaccurate.

Ignore every definition of pringles you read from this point on and watch a couple of their older commercials. Then watch the mahvel video. If you’re still having trouble with it, pay attention to Magneto when Yipes says it.

Vergil/Wesker/Strider

When someone dips their head into a bucket of water and uses their own head as a mop to clean the floor.

What a scrub…

I’m considered a scrub because I’m not a skilled player, though they are a few things. I acknowledge that I’m out of my league compared to other competent players, destroy other scrubs easily, never blame my losses on anything (though I’ve stopped considering some tactics “cheap” a while back), and though I get salty at times over constant failure, it’s more at myself than the player. I accept my losses with grace (no matter how bad it is), shake my opponent’s hand, and move on. Is that how a scrub behaves, or none of that matters because I still lack competence? I’m not saying any of those make me better than anyone, I’m just saying I don’t have a bad attitude as people describe what a scrub is. I ask questions and research stuff, too.

/on that pretentious shit right now. :coffee:

Maybe you just shouldn’t care about what other people think and decide this for yourself.

Its kind of funny everyone will have there moment of scrub in Tekken I perceived Byan as ridiculously good arguable the best player because I saw knee and I saw some of the positions he could put you in with basically no hope. From unblockable setups that no one else has and so on. I had several friends who play him. Finally I decided to play byran you could say I snapped I am able to defeat people playing him way easier with other people and I win a lot with him. However now I get flamed by many people I play with now because they say I took the easy way out. That "Byran is a newb character " meant for beginner people to play and also I get called scrub constantly because I will go undefeated over 20+ games. I try to explain that to play him at the highest levels you have to have all these skills yet I get called scrub. Now as for my higher level friends that go to tournaments with me some encourage me but other say I just couldn’t take the loss. Then because I also play Alisa they think that I have to play Top Tier. However there are rumors that speculate that Alisa may be low tier in Tag.

Regardless of if I am winning or losing I get called a scrub and a try hard. Then it makes it even worse that I since I play on a a with rcade stick I get flamed. Play with a regular controller. LOL? shouldn’t if anything I am playing with something harder. If I lose I get things like give me your arcade stick it is not helping you if I win. Scrub who uses arcade stick and plays byran LOL?! Someone shed light.

Your friends suck and you are better than them. They are the scrubs because they can’t understand the fact that they can pick bryan if they want to as well as buy an arcade stick if it gives an advantage.

I don’t think Alisa is high tier, though I recall she has good pokes. However, you are not a scrub; Bryan’s a good character and from my assumption you need to put in a lot of work, though you do that with most characters.

I think every worthwhile comment in this thread can be summarized as such:

What truly makes someone a scrub? Excuses.

In a nutshell. There are some cases you may need to look a bit farther but for the most part, you’re right.

The same can be said about anything.

I just agreed with you. Wtf is up with this newb section of SRK and people debating every little thing a person says. I agreed with you. Should I suck your cock too?

I realize you agreed, and I was reinforcing your agreement with a universal statement. I wasn’t arguing. You’ll know if I’m arguing with you, and I write a damn novel.

Can this also apply to the CPU, specifically SNK Bosses?

Blaming The Games Updating on why you lose = scrub

Scrub to me is someone who spams, button mashes, uses cheap combos, and uses cheap items (cheap assists, gems, etc. that they know that is cheap)

Basically someone who refuses to learn from their mistakes, and makes excuses as to why they lost.

That and or someone who acts like they know everything, when in reality it’s quite the opposite.

No a scrub is someone like Flash Metroid!
