What Street Fighter Game should receive the hd Remix Treatement next

What game!? Christ people get upset when they don’t get a character they want.

There is still crying about tick throws in STRemix, and throwing in general. Can you imagine what will happen when someone gets their super parried or faces a good Urien player.

I would love to have the HD, keep the remix.

3S for sure. I don’t think it even needs a graphical update, just some badly needed balancing.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, ive been dreaming about it for years, and most likely will continue to dream about it, as it will never come true.

Darkstalkers anything in HD would be next best thing =P

Changing 3s and stuff would create so much bitching and moaning, that id rather not see that happen personally.

How about the 1 and only game that actually deserves it. Im talking about the least ported and upgraded SF…SFIII. SF1s chars. are already delved into from SFIII. The ninja, the gentlemen and SF1 didnt have much variety anyways. Fuck SF1.

Its not like 3rd Strike DOESNT NEED rebalancing cause it does need it badly. Its likely they’ll never upgrade 3rd Strike so why not the next best thing HD remix the shit.

I imagine probably what happened whenever some casual fans saw a Street Fighter 3 machine when they were new games.

“Oh man, I love Street Fighter!”

puts in coin

“Where the hell is Blanka/Sagat/Guile/Honda/Vega/Bison?”

walks away. I get a free game

I’ve seen this happen more than few times. Would people buy 3rd Strike remix? Well, yeah, but not a whole lot. A lot more people who remember Alpha 3 (which DID get a lot of play at my local arcade before it died) and how many characters it had (everyone from Alpha 2 and SF2?! SOLD!) and its sheer variation. I think the PSX port was the highest selling Street Fighter game not of the SF2 series.

It just makes more sense overall to cater to the casuals and throw in some awesome shit for the hardcore fan base as well. Hell, I wouldn’t mind some top players comming in an consulting on some balance tips to make all ISMs competitive rather than everyone using V-ISM and leaving the others to die. On-line matchmaking with all 32 characters, every option from the PSP version, and 3-player dramatic battle would make it fucking sweet.

Put a CPS3 game in HD? For what? Just because we like a game, doesn’t mean it should get HD. SF2 got HD because its graphics were getting well outdated; but still, many people play the original version. CPS3 2-D graphics capabilities are still going strong.

I kinda understand now what Master Chibi was getting at.

We don’t need anymore damn remixes, definitely not of a mass-circuited game like Alpha 3, certainly not VS, anything. Let’s just play the originals and leave it up to Capcom what they want to do, because if we were so fixated on seeing these games in HD, you wouldn’t play them in the first place.

Alpha 3 is most likely the most casual SF game in existence. The game industry has already degraded catering to the “casual fan”; what we need to do, if anything is start getting Capcom on the straight to reviving their dedicated player base.

Quoted for truth.

Sprites look like shit when they’re upscaled with filters in HD.

Tech Romancer^^^^^^ I dont think there is anything wrong with doing an hd remix. I think they should be pumping out remix versions of every street fighter there is. Than I would not need 5 systems to play them all. I think it would be awsome if we had our choice of playing any street fighter game online we wanted. Why not? They make money we get games we want to play on a new console. Than I would not need 5 different joysticks/converters . I think they should remix SNK VS CAPCOM 2 , or Street Fighter Alpha 3, or street fighter 3, as those ones I did not get to play nearly enough.

I didn’t mean to make it sound like I thought Udon was good. Just that he had it backwards and that the outsourced company blew. Thats all. Franly HDR looks fine to me for the most part. there was a ton of stuff wrong with ST’s art as well i think some of the art problems had to do with confining to the old hit boxes and such but otherwise i think the game looks pretty damn good especially the back rounds.

^ I think alot is wrong with the art of HDR. And of course there are bad looking frames in real ST, but overall, the real game looks better. And Alpha and SF3 sprites really dont have any bad frames, they are pretty polished.

As far as making the shit"HD" It seems to me that emulators ran on a computer on a HDTV look just fine. They certainly look better than playing a PS2 game on a HD. They could use cleaning up, but overall it looks good, and I’d rather have real ST on my screen than remix.

Here in ST (CPS1 art) in 1920x1080, that I just captured and its on my 42 inch 1080p TV.

Here is CPS2 art in 1920x1080.

They most certainly dont look bad even as is. Take the exact images and give them more pixels, to clean up lines, and then were talking.

Doesn’t Capcom have a multiyear license to use GGPO?
http://www.capcom-unity.com/s-kill/blog/2008/08/29/ggpo_networking_guru_talks_sf_hd_remix_

That’s not really the point. The next generation of fighting game players is on XBox Live and Playstation not at the arcades or online playing GGPO games which people outside of the fighting games community wouldn’t even know about.
The upsides:
1: Capcom makes money releasing our favorite classic fighters at a reasonable price on next gen consoles, we get more fighting games support.
2: Introduces SFA online to new players, more interest in tourneys.
3: Introduces exclusively XBox360/PS3 players to classic fighting games, more demand for fighting games stateside = we get more Japanese fighting games imported.

Downside = ???

Downside = Capcom loses motivation to make new games knowing you will buy every little compilation they make.

Why did it take 9 years between real Capcom games to come out? They knew you were happy with Speciall Classics Collection 36453437.

Don’t get that one either. If a player really wanted to get into classic fighting games, they’d go and get SF anniversary collection or (more likely) get them on emulator. Also, I think it’ll take far more than that to get the Japs to start exporting they’re stuff over here. Besides, most of the “classic stuff” is already multi-region anyway.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the classics, but they’re fine for now, and for the 100th time, we don’t need another compilation of SFA3.

If you’re gonna beg for a HD remix, at least beg for one that never got released stateside or a game no-one knew about.

then no one will buy it because no one heard about it in the first place

I was referring to underrated gems that for some reason or another escaped the view of the common consumer, but we now realize is a great game. Something that didn’t get the respect it deserved.

^ VS or the SF3 series? I think that’s all that fits the bill.

Fighter’s Destiny HD Remix? Anyone? Good night.

It really should be all of them…just not Remixed.

HD Graphics would allow these games to be played on the new systems and on HDTVs without input lag.

MVC2, CVS2, Alpha Series, 2nd Impact, 3S, all of them…

Just don’t let Backbone anywhere near them of course.

very, very, true.

Who bought Kingdom of Kelflings without knowing what the hell it was? anybody?

To be fair, a 3s remix would sell on the Street Fighter name alone, but I really doubt it would sell as well as other titles.

You mean the player base that has been shrinking slowly but surely since 1993? I think the best way to revive it is to get more people playing. How do you do that? Make the game easily accessible to casuals. If they want to get better, they will. If not, Capcom makes money, and thus, has incentive to make more Street Fighter sequels. Win/Win.
