Sorry but i didn’t quite understand your answer? does it mean i can do it too in my V3? thanks a lot
Hey guys!
So, I want to buy a stick kinda soon and I’m not really sure which one.
The options are:
Hori Real Arcade Pro VX-SA (~117€)
and
MadCatz SoulCalibur V Arcade FightStick Soul Edition (~125€)
Since I live in Germany my arcade stick choice isn’t really that great, and so I wanted to ask if there are any significant differences between them both.
Thanks in advance!
you can order the SCV from french amazon for €107 with low shipping. u ordered mine from french amazon (i live in sweden) and it was quite cheap shipping (12? euro i think). it requires some navigation and basic french knowledge/google translate
the TE is very easily modable though. if you plan on modding it out of the box, i’d recommend you look into the cerberus (i think it’s compatible with the Noir layout, @darksakul should know, he’s one of my heroes in this community).
the noir layout is bit different, the 2 last buttons are bit souther. you could look into that, my #1 tip - if you plan on using all 8 buttons, i only use 6 so - is that you print out the layouts on a paper and “try” it with your fingers which fit you best. the HRAP is harder to mod, but the SCV stick looks bad imo, but apparently @playdoh003 loves it for some weird reason…
I think the HRAP uses sanwa buttons and stick though? if not, i wouldn’t consider it unless you plan on using seimitsu parts (other company, bit stiffer AFAIK, just got my seimitsu button to try it)
The Cerberus is compatible with both the SCV and TTT2 Noir layout sticks… You just have to remove the lower right screw from the joystick mount so that it doesn’t mash up against the joystick’s ribbon cable on the Cerberus board when you reinstall the plate onto the stick.
PlayDoh Tip: So that you don’t lose that screw, you can relocate it to one of the open holes on the horizontal joystick mounts.
I like the SCV because it’s still a TE stick, so you can mod it to your liking:

Besides, I happen to like the curvature of the Noir layout as it relates to my fingertips. I have both this stick and the MCZ TTT2 stick. I also have a SFIV Round 1 stick. I don’t mind the Vewlix layout, but personally prefer the Noir… Heck, if I could get a Sega/Astro P2 layout, I’d prefer that! I bought my Dad a Tek Case with that layout and happen to like it very much.
Since this will be my first arcade stick I think I’ll go for the SCV because it’s easier to mod and the both use Sanwa parts. Dunno if I will mod it to soon but we’ll see.
Oh and it’s really cheap on Amazon.fr compared to Amazon.de.
Maybe I’ll overthink it all tonight in my sleep.
But thanks dej and PlayDoh. That was really helpful.
Greetings
Now Dark Sakul is going to have this HUGE Ego and think he is is the man and stuff.
[/img] Hello there. I have question couse i cant decide my self. Im form Europe. Planing for DIY stick to get cheaper price. All sanwa stick, sanwa buttons and random PCBkit. I have talked with joiner, that can create really cheap box for me. But then i have found in europe e-shop new “MC Street Fighter X Tekken: Arcade FightStick PRO” with 50% discount - only for 65 euro +20 for shipping (total 85 euro). And in Korea Saulabi 4K ~85 USD with shipping (but still customs can calculate taxes so it could cost +20 USD - ~105 USD total).
So the prices will be something like this:
-MC Street Fighter X Tekken: Arcade FightStick PRO - 65 Euro + 20 Euro for shipping - total 85 Euro (115 USD).
-Saulabi 50 USD + 35 USD for shipping - total 85 USD.
-DIY sanwa kit - Europe price is ~80 USD for stick buttons and shipping (asia price is 50 USD), +15 USD for above mentioned PCB. Strudy wooden box (not the best outfit) ~15 USD, acrilic glass for picture/art - ~10-15 USD. Total ~90(if no taxes) or 120-140 USD.
So i’ve lost my way. Can you help me and share your expirience? I tend to Saulabi… Is there possibility that my ordered Saulabi 4K will have original MyoungShin Fanta stick? (i plan to order not from etokki).
Or should i go with DIY and MyoungShin stick combo + sanwa buttons?
What about above mentioned PCB quality? Good for using only on PC? Or should i ignore it?
Sorry for my english language skills.
P.S. Forgot to mention that i really would like to add picture/art to arcade stick. Big fan of asian warriors. But most i like samurai warriors. Would gladly add Raizo Ichikawa picture from movie. Or fighting birds photo. Example:

Sorry for sharing those images - just wanted to show it
If you can get a Madcatz Stick for that price, go for it. You won’t get a DIY option cheaper and it’s certainly going to be a better quality base to start with than any DIY option.
Back in 2009 sticks were harder to get, now in 2013 Retail sticks are the way to go if you do not want to spend alot of money.
Also the TE has alot of customization options from all the 3rd party accessories and parts out there. It wouldn’t be hard to customize your TE with a Samurai theme
Pad player here. Are there any other good PS2/PS3 to 360 controller converters out there besides these two?
I’ve heard that the Xtokki doesn’t play nice with analog, and I haven’t really heard anything about the second one. I’d prefer something that doesn’t require a 360 controller to already be plugged in.
Wrong thread.
Try the Converter Compatibility Thread
P.S. That second converter from Aliexpress is terrible.
Thanks.
Hello again, I was wondering if you could elaborate on the Real Arcade Pro.V3 SA, specifically how it compares to a madcatz fightstick pro.
There’s also no errors mentioned so I’m assuming it’s Ps3/PC with no issues ie you don’t need x360ce for some games.
From what I can tell is they are nearly identical except the madcatz has a slightly longer cord, assuming there’s nothing I’m missing that’s huge… (other than modding).
I know some older / worse quality ps3 Hori sticks have some issues with GFWL in SFIV, does the RAP have this?
HRAP V3 SA and MCZ Fightstick Pro are equivalent in terms of parts (full Sanwa lever and buttons, turbo, lock, etc). HRAP V3 SA was my first stick purchase, never had any problems with it.
Major differences are weight - the Fightstick Pro has a good more amount of heft to it than the HRAP V3 SA. I have a HRAP V3 SA and I don’t like to use it due to how light it is, but that’s because I’m a baddy and am too rough on the lever. Lighter might feel better for some.
I’ve never worked on a Fightstick Pro but from the pictures I’ve seen it seems like it might be a little more involved to mod in terms of accessing the PCB but otherwise they’re both common ground and accessible.
Really comes down to the weight and your appearance preferences.
Thanks, but now let’s talk Qanba, I’ve heard some players swear that Qanba is the best up and down,
but what are these dropped input complaints? Are they legitimate? I noticed the multi-input board
is a bit slow based on the tests, what are the main differences between the Q2Pro, the Q3 and the Q4?
Is the Q3 reliably much faster than the Q4?
I’m worried that the stick is way too close to the buttons, is this an actual problem?
I don’t have hard figures for such claims but the claims I do pay attention too are from long time members of SRK, they heavily frequent the Tech Talk board and are with in good standing with tech talk, so their claims have more weight to be that the guy who wants to save time and money on a dual-mod and claims the stick works “FINE”.
Keep in mind there is a clear difference between something working “FINE” and something working “WELL”. A Car held together with Duct Tape runs fine, but it is structurally unsound and its a totaled piece of crap.
No
Google image search. Take a look at the images. First part is cosmetic
Second,
Q2, Q3 Knock off Qanba made parts.
Q4 uses Sanwa parts
Q2 pro has a better made case than the vanilla Q2.

Depends, everyone different
So Q2 and Q3 are knock off parts at sa/se prices?
That doesn’t sound very heartening…
Thanks for the info Your wisdom is much appreciated.
More Info on the Q2 here
http://www.eightarc.com/qanba-q2-glow-ps3-pc/
It looks similar to the Qanba Parts used in PDP’s Injustice Stick.
I think the Q3 is the Only Qanba stick made with MDF instead of all plastic
Man with all these Qanba doubts I think I’ll just opt for a HRAP…
Hi all, I’m new here. I’ve been playing Street Fighter for a while using a gamepad and I’m looking at moving to an arcade stick.
I’m a PC gamer living in the UK so my choice is limited but I primarily care about reliability and PC + 360 compatibility.
I’ve narrowed my choice down to the HRAP VX SA Kai, SFxT Pro or the Mad Cat FightStick Pro. What would people recommend? I like the look of the FightStick Pro mostly but I’m open to suggestions.
