$50? So long as it works, buy the damn thing. The older revisions of the TE are less reliable than newer sticks, but there are many thousands of happy owners out there still using them.
I’m contemplating purchasing a Madcatz Soul Calibur V Stick for PS3. I’ve been reading a lot of information regarding the compatibility with the PC. It seems some Madcatz sticks only work with Intel chipsets, which I do not have. Is this the case with the Soul Calibur stick? It seems like a great deal, but no PC support would be a deal breaker.
This is Only with the older Round 1 and Round 2 TE sticks. The Newer TE-S sticks including the Soulcalibur stick fixed this issue.
i ordered a SCV stick for PS3 a week ago or so and it works perfectly fine for PC, atleast for street fighter
Hey guys, just wanted to update. I picked up the round 1 TE fight stick I was talking about, and though its a bit dusty from not being used, its working great. Thanks for all the great information compiled in this thread
I got myself a Hori 2way Pad, I think it’s even better than the Saturn
This is a thread about helping people choose which specific model of arcade stick is best suited for them, not for posts saying “buy my sticks.” There’s a difference between saying “you should get xxxx stick and yyyy shop may have them on sale” and “by this/these sticks/sticks that I’m selling.” As such, please refrain from adding your own Trading Outlet threads, these may also be in violation of the “no selling on Tech Talk” [rule](Info Thread: Rules, FAQs and Tutorials Inside. (READ THIS BEFORE HITTING THAT NEW THREAD BUTTON!)
As for any other links to Trading Outlet posts in this thread. Just because they haven’t been reported/caught doesn’t mean you should go ahead and do so yourself.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
So umm, I been reading quite a few treads for next gen controllers…
Issue is there is none out yet, Mad Catz has a new version of the TE planned for the Xbone but there Xbone isn’t out yet.
For you serious modders this isn’t an issue at all. As for the Tournament attendees, rest assured that the PS4 and Xbone will not be adopted anytime soon as there is a significant lack of Fighting titles at the moment.
That is also assuming that it is even feasible for a tourney to set up a PS4 or a Xbone for tournament/ exhibition play.
The smart consensus to is there any forwards compatible sticks is "We do not know yet"
But I want to say Honestly don’t bet on any PS3 or Xbox 360 accessories being compatible on their respective Next gen consoles.
No the manufacturers don’t care if your old stock of controllers, accessories and stick is compatible . They want to sell new ones, its how they stay in business.
Hey can someone tell me what’s the difference of HORI fighting stick 3 and the V3? and I’m planning to buy the V3, can someone tell me if it’s 100 compatible to PC nowadays? It seems that early version released of V3 and 3 HORI fightsticks have issues on PC’s, thanks!!!
I never heard of hori sticks having issues with PC but I digress. Both sticks should be compatible with your PC and work just fine. I never say 100% compatible as nothing for Windows has a perfect 100% compatibility in theory, even if Microsoft made it.
Note Photos are not to scale.

This is a Hori Fight Stick 3

and this is the Hori V3.
The V3 should be easier to mod, and my opinion better made. Both sticks use Hori made knock off parts
I rather recommend the Hori Hrap V3 PRO SA or the Hori Hrap V3 PRO SA Kai
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41tG2NSVGzL.jpg
Hrap V3 PRO SA

Hrap V3 PRO SA Kai
You can also look for the Xbox 360 versions of the V3 and Hrap V3 the VX and Hrap VX SA Pro
THank you so much for the wonderful information, I’ve already bought the V3, it’s a lot cheaper and I’m on a tight budget, Living in Asia is such a bum LOL. Anyway it’s working perfectly in my PC, playing SF4 AE 2012, MK Komplete and some old SF MAME games. I’ve been searching for links on how to mod the stick and buttons, just for future reference. I’m planning to change to sanwa parts (octa plate and sanwa buttons) early next year, octa because i think i’m more used to that. because I’m having a little problem when it comes to SUPER executions and dragon punch. Can you please give me links on how to fully mod my new HORI V3 stick? i can’t seem to find it in hundred of topics here. Thank you so much, You’ve been a great help!!
Sorry but another important question, Can i just replace the default HORI V3 square plate with an octagon type? i mean does the sanwa octagonal restrictor works with original hori stick? thanks, I’m having like 7/10 chance in QCF and DP using the square type, thanks!!
If it’s an SA model, then yes, as Hori SA models use Sanwa parts.
Let me make that more clear for everyone.
If you have the Regular V3/VX (Six buttons) arcade stick, then no you can’t add the Octagonal gate without some Modding
If you have one of the Real Arcade Pro V3/VX SA arcade sticks then yes, you can easily. On any Hori stick you can tell what parts are used on the stick by default.
Anything ends in a :
SA - Sanwa Parts
SE - Seimitsu Parts
The Fighting Edge uses Hori’s own parts but made on par with authentic parts.
For modding the regular V3/VX read and search though this thread
This is how FreedomGundam installed a JLF in the VX
This is a somewhat unrelated thread, different Stick The Hori EX2, but if you just want to install the Octagonal gate, here is an example how it would be done as they used the same joystick assembly.
This is my own mod of the VX
IF this IS the case, then it needs to be posted in the OP in the same section as the ATTENTION ALL READERS.
If I could, I’d give the sticks away, but unfortunately I cannot at this juncture…
why is noone else trying to sell their sticks here then? i think its just you being butthurt, sorry.
there’s no need to argue, just accept it and try to contribute in other ways. its nice you’re trying to help people out but this is the wrong forum
Hey Is D3V filipino? Can i contact you man? i’m a filipino too, currently living in mandaluyong? I’m desperate need of a modder. Tulungan mo nman ako tol? gamer sa kapwa gamer heheheh, salamat!
Wow, finding [this thread](Info Thread: Rules, FAQs and Tutorials Inside. (READ THIS BEFORE HITTING THAT NEW THREAD BUTTON!) was super difficult…
Another question guys, How come this guy replaced only his Square gate using SANWA JLF octagonal restrictor without any additional work considering his brand of HORI is much smaller than my V3 type? Here’s the video link

Thanks!!!
Space, simplicity, budget.
