What Stick/Controller Should I Buy? Read the Guide on Pg 1 Before Posting

Hello all,

Just picked up SF IV ac after a long time out and can’t get anywhere with the 360 pad. Never had a stick before so want to get this right.

UK based and Argos has some sticks for reasonable prices:

Fight Stick VS £82.99
Fight Stick Pro Cross £72.99
Fight Stick Pro Line £72.99

I want one that’ll last, so is easy to repair, tweak, swap gates etc.

I’ve looked for a nice easy comparison and the start of this thread has me leaning toward the VS, is this the right choice?

Any advice appreciated.

Both the pro and vs are good, but I would suggest the VS. I have both, and really like the VS.

Thanks dude, after an embarrassing amount of research and fretting I ordered the VS. Very excited now, time to get learning all those new characters.

Hi folks, i am thinking about buying this one for Street Fighter X Tekken and Street Fighter séries… Near future going to get doa5 and Tekken Tag Tournament 2

Worth it?

It’s an ok stick, but that price is crazy.

I just can`t find another place that ships to brazil :frowning:

Is it really more expensive than it should?

EDIT: I believe that Amazon ships to Brazil, what`s the difference between Cross and Line: http://www.amazon.com/Mad-Catz-Street-Fighter-Tekken-Playstation/dp/B0072A4KVG/ref=sr_1_12?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1363654178&sr=1-12&keywords=arcade+stick

178 dollars ain’t bad, it’s pretty basic here in Finland lol :>

The one in the listing is a Q4 2in1 (PS3/PC) so it’s kind of over priced.

The Q4RAF’s that are 3in1 (PS3/360/PC) cost around that at $150~$160 US (focusattack.com and canadianjoysticks.com) in NA.

But if you can get a Amazon to ship the PRO stick to you (Cross and Line is just artwork differences), you’re better off going that route imo. Of course with shipping it may end up being more expensive than the Qanba lol.

Or you might want to look at this one (don’t know if it ships internationally):

Ah, I got it confused for the old Q1, my apologies. Couldn’t they just call it something other than Q1 cut? Also, the actual stock stick (Not modded with Sanwa which is an extra $30) is around $115. Now I also did some research via Google and found out that Qanba buttons are total rubbish. Also I didn’t check the AUD to USD exchange rate (always a battle between them) but guessed it would be worth a little higher, hehe.

I don’t really consider a stick top grade until I judge its build quality, etcetera. I’ve been trying a few sticks recently at my buddies house who is a collector of Japanese arcade knick knacks. Only found a few sticks with decent weight and a good feel/palm rest (The TE stick is pretty nice!) Japanese buttons doesn’t mean high end to me, it just means mid-range. High end is something that really feels great. Because you don’t want a crappy PCB with a cheap plastic build with Sanwa or Seimitsu parts and call it high end. My 2 cents!

I don’t think it does, think it’s inside US only. Otherwise I would’ve bought that stick (x360 ver) a long time ago, 99 dollars is NOTHING for an arcade stick. An SCV stick would be so awesome to have…

This one it dosen`t…

Any downsides on the SFXTK one?

Some people do not like the PRO case body and prefer the TE or VS case instead.

Nothing that will trouble my gameplay, right?

More just personnel preference.
Although physical comfort (or lack there of) can effect game play.

Some people like the Pro some do not.
I myself, do not own a Pro so I can’t say

So, my final decision between this two are pretty hard:

Reading reviews is even worse because harder to choose :frowning:

The only reviews you need to worry about are those on this site.

I’d probably go for the Strekken stick, simply because it’s a fair bit cheaper. You aren’t getting that much different with Kai unless you specifically want a different top panel layout.

I found a sweet deal on a Hori Soul Calibur V stick. Is it possible to change the artwork that stick or do i have to get a custom acrylic?

Ignore the Amazon Reviews, I can tell you now those reviews are not written by anyone who knows what they are talking about.

it is possible to change out the art, but I highly recommend the plexy as it protect the art from damage.

Based on recommendations here I ordered the SFxT Pro Line from amazon. I really don’t care about SFxT. I’m thinking about swapping out the art for it. I have no Photoshop skills but I want to create a Metal Slug themed stick

True, reading dx.com reviews made me buy a cheap arcade stick… Wich one of those that I said would you buy?
