on the budget picks it says
Hori VX/V3 (not the Hrap VX/V3 Pro SA sticks)
Im confused on this stick because it says Real Arcade Pro. VX SA Kai
http://stores.horiusa.com/-strse-160/Xbox-360-Real-Arcade/Detail.bok
Is this the stick that is recommended?
The Kais are the update of the vx/v3 pro SA.
Damn. I’ve been looking for 2 hours straight and I cant fight one stick on the budget recommendations list LOL.
Are the good sticks all sold out or something?
The Kai is a pretty good stick. It’s just a higher msrp than the vx/v3.
[s]What a shame, looked like a decent stick that wasn’t bloated with shitty decals everywhere and looked like it had decent parts.
However, can I easily modify it with Sanwa parts without soldering? Obviously I’m not going to settle in with budget buttons. I don’t want to play with a PS3 pad any longer, unless someone can refer me to a VERY good pad for Tekken.
Is there any other budget sticks with Sanwa parts in them? Seriously, $150NZD is my budget. The main problem is the bloody shipping, it usually costs $40 to even get it to here from the US or Asia. The Hori TTT2 stick is $270 dollars at Mightyape. I kid you not.[/s]
EDIT: Disregard my entire question, Mad Catz SFxT Pro Cross stick (Full Sanwa) better PCB than TE sticks. All for $151NZD, from Amazon (International Shipping.) Cross or Line for PS3 and Xbox 360, both for $99USD. LINK If you live outside the US, this may be the answer for you. Gonna buy one of these on the 28th. Sanwa on budget? Hell yes.
Hardware wise the TE-S and the Pro both have identical Electronics. How ever the Pro and the TE series have two different cases.
Many people find that they don’t like the Pro case, others think the Pro case is fine.
Just wanted to point out that you can buy a Qanba Q1 cut with either Sanwa or Seimitsu parts for AUD$132.84 over at Qanbashop.
^I saw that already, IMHO I believe it is not worth it (Unless you REALLY need desk clamps.) 132AUD has a higher currency worth than USD, so that is pretty overpriced for such a budget, outdated stick. That, and the shipping = $190. Better off getting a Mad Catz stick. Although the desk clamps do look handy, you could probably just get a separate desk clamp and fit your stick on there.
Barely - 132 AUD = 128 USD
And the new Q1 has only recently been released, so how you can say it’s outdated is beyond me. And you call it a budget stick despite coming with Sanwa or Seimitsu parts?
Hurm…
A) The Q1 cut Sanwa/Seimitsu is not a budget stick (as evidenced by the Sanwa/Seimitsum parts)
B) 132AUD is about $136 with todays exchange rate, which is lower than the standard price for a new TE or Pro.
C) A few months old isn’t “outdated” in anyone’s book.
Hey, thanks a lot for the very detailed OP, there were a lot of concepts that intrigued me, but I’m just gonna lay down the story here.
I’ve been playing Street Fighter X Tekken lately (on and off) and having mild success with playing and winning. However, when it comes out to actually learning combos, chains, links, etc, I have been unsuccessful (let’s just say I’ve never found a very comfortable and not frustrating control scheme for my shitty USB keyboard) and decided to finally pony up and buy an arcade stick. I’ve been eyeballing the WWE Brawling Buddies stick and it seems to fit me well, its supposedly the highest quality newbie sticks have to offer, very cheap, easy to get here in Europe and it also happens to be about Pro-Wrestling which I enjoy.
My worries are that I’ve seen Amazon Reviews saying that after a few months of casual use it gets very unresponsive and buggy, can anyone vouch for or against that? I’m fine with buying an arcade stick but I hope it can last me at least 3 years or so without me having to buy another one. Thoughts?
There will always be good & bad reviews about any product, some of them may even be genuine and not generated by companies.
Here’s what I know - the buttons and joysticks are not good, but the Brawlstick is excellent for swapping in Sanwa or Seimitsu parts. For the best performance please bear this in mind when purchasing as getting new parts will add to the final cost.
Dual modding it is a bit trickier compared to other sticks… as you seem to be intending to use it on a PC then I’d advise getting the 360 version.
Well, my seller bailed out, he got a better offer. Yay
Anyone know of european stores f.ex in UK or Germany who ship to other parts of Europe (Finland)
Ugh, getting a stick is fucking hard
UK based arcade parts store Gremlin Solutions sells Qanba sticks http://www.gremlinsolutions.co.uk/the-qanba-shop.php
Also konsolinet.fi (Helsinki, Kamppi) sells the newish Mad Catz SFxT sticks for 139€, you just gotta email/call them and they’ll get one for you.
Thanks alot!
Just found the gremlinsolutions and emailed them asking how much it would cost.
Didn’t know that Konsolinet sells 'em, I guess I have to contact them about it (their website doesn’t show a thing)

You just gotta search for “street fighter x tekken” to find the two sticks (xbox360 and ps3). They show as unavailable but they said that they will order them from the retailer as soon as there’s someone willing to buy them, that’s why you got to contact them in advance. I was there in person myself a few days ago talking about this very same topic.

You don’t know if reviews are the vocal minority or the majority of WWE Brawl Owners.
I can give you the facts, the Mad Catz WWE Brawl stick uses clone or knock-offs parts that impersonate Sanwa Parts.
The Good thing is the PCB and Electronics are good, you just need to swap out the Joystick and buttons with Sanwa or Seimitsu joystick and buttons.
What do people think about the SFxTK fighstick PRO line
Ordered one yesterday! Stoked on getting it, probably in 2 weeks or so?
Is it easy to mod? Is it similar to the SF4 line?
Sanwa buttons right?

Can’t go wrong with that stick.
Easy to mod? Yes, just like all of MadCatz’s sticks nowadays.
Sanwa? Yup, buttons and the stick itself are all Sanwas.
If I’d have to come up with one negative thing about that stick, it would probably be the missing grip/velvet bottom which is really nice if and when you’re playing with the stick on your lap. (at least I’m kinda sure that it doesn’t have it :<)
Any other scandinavian options to get an arcade stick?
