I know we’re probably getting into more money than you’re willing to spend, but if you’re already used to a keyboard, have you considered trying a HitBox? Or maybe even a gaming keyboard? A better keyboard maybe all you need.
If you have your heart set on the Brawl Stick, it is OK right out of the box. Like Saul mentioned, you will need to upgrade to proper Sanwa parts but at least you can get the stick and try it out to see if you like it, and then at your convenience swap out the parts at your leisure.
Btw, since the first post isn’t very clear on the Qanba stick and shouldn’t be the most accurate since that portion is under development. Can someone explain to me the problems with the Qanba sticks and how often they have input drops and pcb board failures and if the problems have improved/got lower rates of failure. I would also like to know if any of the parts fail will I be able to get replacements for free. I would really like a Qanba Q2 since I like the overall design and layout, but if there’s too many problems then I’ll settle for a MadCatz TE which is on sale right now. And $120 is basically my full budget on a fightstick and can someone enlighten me soon.
Most common problem I see about the Qanba is the cord compartment door breaking off followed by the usb cord going funny. Occasional posts about PCB issues.
There’s a rep from Qanba on here fairly regularly, llx8000, that responds to problems on a fairly regular basis:
If you have questions about the stick from a replacement standpoint you’re better off asking them (he/she posts their email in the thread).
Honestly if I was going to get a Qanba stick I end up gutting EVERYTHING (including PCB) out and modding it my way
I be also installing a Neutrik pass-though (ether RJ45 or USB). And for the record I like no manufacturer’s (Hori, Mad Catz, Qanba, Microsoft ect) USB cable, I find them all to be too flimsy.
I used to get cables from Lizard Lick when they were in business, now I get my cables from Monoprice.
SFXT stick is a good stick and play comfortably.
I do have one for sale if you want, I don’t need it. Its about3 months old. Its for xbox360/PC since I play on PC.
Let me know if interested.
Alternatively, you can get a someone trusted to buy the stick for you in the U.S and have him/her ship that to you in Brazil by USPS or UPS. Its way cheaper that route.
That person can get the stick from Amazon free of taxes and free shipping. The cost to ship by USPS is only $60 to $77 depending on size of the box. not sure about UPS
I saw the custom case on tek-innovations. These things seem pretty simple to put together. Anyone have link to a thread with a parts list and a visual guide on putting in the PCB and hooking up all the parts? As long as there is no soldiering it seems very doable.
I have the same problem, I am stuck between the Qanba Q4RAF and HRAP v3sa. I would only be playing at home with my friends on my ps3. I do not have a budget and also on the site I will have to order from, canadianjoysticks.com, the Qanba Q4 is $30 more than the HRAP even after tax and shipping.
So if I only plan on playing at home on my ps3 with my friends which stick is the best to buy. Thanks
First off everyone have a budget. Budget does not mean you are poor, budget means how much money you got to play around with right now.
If money is not an issue, then you have a near unlimited budget.
Regardless of your financial situation, you should set how much money are you willing to spend on a item.
This goes extra for computers, various technology like smart phones, tables and the like. This includes Arcade sticks.
So lets say you can spare $300 for a stick, your budget is $300. You can spare $500 you got a 500 dollar budget.
If tax and shipping is a issue, factor those cost in.
@loleyebrows go for the Hrap V3 SA or Hrap V3 SA Kai
@Banglev Where do you live at? Depending on your location flight to France is a bit excessive just for a stick.
If you value the most for your money go for the Hori, if you want your stick to support PS3 and Xbox 360 out of the box, go for Qanba.
If you are really as rich as you claim, ignore Hori and Qanba all together and get a custom made stick. In Europe I know Shadoloo and B15 makes some very nice sticks.
lol I’m not that rich,
I live in Israel and basically gaming isn’t very popular here and Fighting games ain’t populat at all so local stores does not sell decent sticks (some sell Madcatz TE for like 1100NIS which is about 300$ because taxes so expensive here).
Well, if my bro isn’t getting an Arcade Stick from France, I’ll probably order one from Arcadeshock.com and i’ll pay about 70$ shippment.
the Qanba seems to have a design more to my liking. It supports PS360/PC which is great, it has a pocket for the wire and it can be handled easily.
