If you want to make a custom PS3/Xbox 360 stick a TE or Hrap are you top choices.
PS3 / Xbox 360 Hybrid, we refer that to as a Dual-mod. Most retail sticks come for one or the other system not both.
Paewang/ Datel stick has the only commercially made Dual-mode PCB.
Other that that, it is easier to mod a Xbox 360 stick to be a dual mod that to start off with a PS3 stick.
This is because there are so many options for PS3 replacement boards, and that options for Xbox 360 pcbs are bulky.
So you’re saying I should buy a Tournament Edition 360 stick and it should easier to mod that than a PS3 stick to make sure I have this correct? And, can you point me in the direction as to who/where can I find the mod so I can purchase and fix it all at the same time. I really do appreciate the assistance from you all.
Yes a TE or Hrap 360 is easier to start than a PS3 TE/ Hrap.
You need both a Xbox 360 and PS3 board, The majority of the Dual mod kits add PS3 fuctionality
to get Xbox 360 boards, most people have to take apart and sacrifice a Xbox 360 controller.
Best bet for a TE is first the Dual Strike TEasy or Kitty TE then the ChImp.
Yes, 360 TE sticks are ridiculously easy to mod over their PS3 counterparts.
You can purchase parts directly from Toodles (Cthulhu and Kitty boards) and Phreakazoid (TEasy Strike). For other modders check out this thread:

I’m looking for a stick that’s pretty easy to customize.
I’m looking into the project giant sword site, thinking that the first one(the rogue one I think) is the one for me, but it looks a little bit pricey. Is that a good one to get, or is there another one that may be better than that?
Something that is not already a custom stick. Read though the actual guide on page 1
how do you obtain and install custom artwork for a stick?
namely the HRAP2 and the Hori Tekken 5 stick (http://i.imgur.com/vn7Cl.jpg)
So this is my first post too but I need help. I have bought an HRAP V3-SA and a Mad Catz TE but hate them both. I already returned the HRAP and will return the TE soon. I don’t like the buttons or the stick. I would like to make my own custom, probably with Happs buttons, but I don’t know what to do about the stick or the case. I find the JLF to be loosey-goosey and waaay to sensitive for me. If I do a training mode->show inputs on SFIV, I’m all over the place with the JLF and can’t even do Sakura’s Shouoken. I have no problem executing any moves on pads. I would like a stick with a stiffer spring for sure. I was thinking just to go with an LS-32, but I’m not sure if it’s going to be a large enough change from the JLF. Also, I’d like a metal case with a viewlix layout. I haven’t found one of those available other than pre-build at etokki.com. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
For people that are looking for tutorials or tech guides try the Info Tread first. Thanks. 99.9 out of a 100 times your question was already answered by someone else. Tech advice goes off topic for what this thread is really for.
Last time I help with off topic tech advice on this thread, next time I just point people towards Info Tread, and you can sort it out your self. Or if I am in a bad mood I just flame you.
Try Tek cases for the printing and the plexy thats goes over the print, but for the actual art you are on your own.
If you can’t draw, try image searches, Image mash ups, or you can commission someone to make you your art.
You can install stiffer or additional springs to a JLF to make it stiffer. Other than that you will need a Happ or IL joystick.
Also for cases with Happ parts you want to have enough depth for clearance underneath as Happ parts are bigger and longer than Japanese parts.
Try the trading post for anyone who will make you a custom case. FYI Happs do not fit well into thin metal by it self. Happs is designed for wooden panels.
If you also read the guide here, I did make mention of a few American style sticks.
My biggest piece of advice is do not blame the hardware, blame your own skills first. Switching to a stick is not easy and you will become worst before you become better.
I just want to know if this place is good or has anybody bought one from here and tell me how they think of the product they bought.

Lets leave customs off this thread. Customs are out of the scope of what the focus of the guide and it is off topic.
Ive read the first post but could still use some advice.
Ive been jumping between pad and stick for a while now. I like the responsiveness of stick and the universal layout it has, but nothing ever matches my speed and reactions on a pad.
Ive been using the mad cats fight pad. I love the layout 6 buttons on face with the shoulders for the 3-in-1 press. Its just the d-pad I dont like. Its works pretty much perfectly for shoto but its charge I strugle with. Normal back to forward moves work fine but things like charge supers and ultras dont (charge< > < >). Because of the way I use the Dpad by sliding my thumb across the pad it often slips into an up or down. For example when i use bison his ultra/super often turns into a teleport as on the return forward the pad often slips down and then forward, forming a shoryu motion.
This never used to happen when I used the SNES controller. I love the madcatz stick but the dpad is just too high up and my thumb just falls from neutral. Im looking at getting another pad, something similar with a 6 button face and shoulder buttons, but with a good dpad, something closer to the Nintendo pad.
You may want to consider looking in to HORI’s Fighting Commander 3 Pro. It’s got a d-pad similar in shape to the SNES controller as well as a 6-button layout. What’s cool about this thing is that you’re able to adjust the tension of the d-pad’s directions as well as rotate the d-pad so that it tilts at an angle which makes it easier to fit it to how your thumb moves on a d-pad. In addition to that, you’ve obviously got the 6 face buttons as well as 4 shoulder buttons. What’s great about the shoulder buttons is that at the flip of a switch, you’re able to move over L1 and L2 over to the R1 and R2 side so that way you can have your left hand entirely free to do directional inputs and your right hand can be entirely dedicated to buttons.
Alternatively, you could go and get a FGWidget Converter kit from Toodles (purchasing info in the first post of his thread) and make your own converter that goes from SNES or Sega Saturn to Xbox 360/PS3. That’d definitely be a bit more expensive, but you may want to consider it if you really liked the SNES controller or the Sega Saturn one.
Hope that helps CartooN.
The commander 3 pad does look really interesting. Also having 4 shoulder buttons is even better for me because I can sometimes have trouble getting a good shoulder button press with my left hand when Im heavily active on the dpad, so I could have all the right should buttons doing all the work.
Something I forgot to mention, which I really should have, is that Im a 360 player and I cant seem to find a 360 version of the pad. Is there one or one thats very similar to it?
Not a dedicated fight pad, but its the closes Hori makes to the Fighting commander for the PS3
Hori turbo command ex 2 (Xbox 360)
Its a standard -ish Xbox 360 game pad but with 6 face buttons.
Here us the breif section of game pads
Why buy the 360 turbo command ex2, when you can instead mod the FC3 to work on the PS3.
Spoiler
Because Tech Talk.
Or have someone mod it for you?
Wish Madcatz would care more for the 360 and finallyyyyy re-stock the TE round 2, or even the first sticks that the PS3 do have for 70 bucks. Its crazy, ive been checking in and out for months but they never restock lol. I wanna use the discount codes but there is like 1 stick for the 360 and I think that’s the fatale stick…I could be wrong might not be any stick Vs like 4 from the PS lol
I checked Amazon too but I think I didn’t have much luck there either. Well w/e I can’t buy it now anyways but I just wish they’d restock so I could at least use the discount codes.
Well I had an Hori Fighting Stick 3 Soul Calibur IV version for a long time already and the buttons finally died on me (yes I know that the Fighting Stick 3 was a cheap piece of crap to begin with out of the box but if you had and played with a stick for so long you get attached to it). I am now looking for a high end stick with Sanwa parts. I do not have a credit card and have 200 in my Amazon account so I have 2 options the Qanba Q2 or HRAP V3 SA. I know that the Madcatz TE sticks will be brought up so let me say now that …NO! I will not get a Madcatz TE stick because of two things: I had a Madcatz ps2 gamepad before and the thing broke in my hands and gave me a deep cut on my palm so I have a big grudge against the company even if the sticks are really good . And 2 I have heard that the TE sticks does not work on PC.
