What Stick/Controller Should I Buy? Read the Guide on Pg 1 Before Posting

It’s a preference thing for sure.

My TES+ didn’t arrive until yesterday so I only have a few hours on it.

I am keeping the tes+ and the Hori is going back. I like that it’s heavier, feels much more solid. The depth is better, giving more room for your palms. It’s narrower by only 1/2". The Sanwa stick feels much tighter to me. The touch pad and r3/l3 layout is more convenient, especially in training mode. The stick is about 1" closer to the buttons but still comfortable.

Also it looks awesome!

I just got the TE2+ and feel exactly the same wrt my Hori V3 SA. My Hori has all the same Sanwa parts, but I still think the TE2 feels way better because of the weight and the flat surface to rest your hand on. Also it feels completely solid, none of the cheap creaking issues people had talked about for older version.

It will pain me to sell my old Horis, but this is just strictly better than all of them.

That extra surface makes a big difference.
I have a te2+ on order, mainly because the price dropped to $185 on Amazon (tes+ is $200) but it’s not even in stock.

Thing is I might cancel that order, I really like the tes+ and I’m not sure I’ll like the te2+. It’s almost too flashy for my liking, but I can change that…

I added an octo gate to my tes+ today. It’s super easy, 6 screws in you’re in the case, took all of 10min. No regrets about this purchase at all. If your looking at the hrap or the tes, tes hands down.

But hey, a basically brand new “used” hrap4 is going to be on Amazon in the next couple days. I promise I kept her mint

Quick question about that amazon order. Did it say anything like it’ll ship as soon as it’s back in stock or something along those lines? I’m thinking about ordering one but I dont wanna just put it on order and just stare and hope they come back in stock when I can go and buy a TE+ you know? but this just seems like a better deal

Also, any news on any new editions of the TE2+? Similar to the chun version or the Rivals version?

After I bought it the delivery info changed from “when let you know when it’s in stock…” to

Due to high customer demand, orders shipped from and sold by Amazon.com placed after January 26 are unlikely to be delivered until April 2016. Order now and we’ll notify you by email when we have an estimated delivery date for this item. Orders will be fulfilled in the order in which they are received.

So I’m guessing it will be shipped sometime this month. I called Madcatz before I placed the order, they have units in stock and are shipping back orders first, then they will start shipping to Amazon.

Amazon changed the price again, now it’s $196?!

I’m actually thinking about cancelling. The tes+ has the same internals, though it is more cramped, and I really like it so far. That and I’m thinking about trying out a hitbox too… If I can find a good deal.

TE2+ back in stock on Amazon! I’ll have mine on the 19th. But the price went up to $230 with prime.

It’s out of stock again

Still thinking if I should get the TE2+ or not… I’ve got too many sticks already

Looks like the TE2+ is back in stock again, but it’s at 229 now. If it’s at 185, I may contemplate it

I only have a day on my te2 but it was all I needed. I already sold my tes to a friend.

If one is shopping for a new/first stick then it’s te2 for sure. The $80 spread between the top next gen sticks is too close. Extra weight, surface area and larger non stick pad make a big difference. My te2 doesn’t budge an inch when playing on my coffee table, and I suck, I go into wake up DP on reflex.

Hey All,

New here and have been trying sticks and pads for years on and off. I am looking for something that’s a mix that I can’t find anywhere so hoping the experts of can help

I am after a fight pad with an analogue stick on one side and a 6 or 8 button layout fight stick style the other. I looked at the new mad catz fight pad and that seemed to be not far from what I am after (although would prefer larger buttons closer to a fight stick and no d pad) but I have heard so many bad things about its quality it’s really put me off.

I am trying to learn to use a stick and have the ps4 Sony arcade stick (te2 coming later ) what are the best parts to upgrade as I have an Oct gate ( although back left seems to not Input right )

So I’m in the market to get a new stick after seeing all the cool ones at Texas showdown this weekend. I’m probably going to get one of the te2 or te2+ but my dilemma is would the + be worth the extra $30 or just get the standard one? I will eventually get a Brooks universal for it either way. I have also heard some issues with seimitsu parts in it so was looking at feedback on that as well. So is having a touch pad worth $30+ lol

Why would u need the Brooks universal, it shouldn’t need it. Also where r u gettin the te2 from i thought it was sold out everywhere? On topic no the touch pad isn’t worth it I don’t think I have even use it since I got mine

Don’t get the madcatz fightpad its terrible. As far as sticks go I have the te2+ and it’s amazing no need 2 upgrade anything

Can’t see why you can’t get a DS3 or DS4 into a build like this, P.S. this will totally be a d.i.y. project, as I believe all the folks willing to build these no longer do. GL

B15SDM Designs had one up a while back. I’m not sure what a custom pad/stick hybrid would run.

I finally saved up enough money to get myself a quality fight stick right off the start so i don’t have to worry about upgrading to a top notch one in the future. I just finish building my new PC and I have extra money left over, so I’m looking to invest money into a fightstick for SFV.

I’m new to SFV in general, but after playing it on a xbox controller, I feel like I’m not getting the full experience, I’m not getting that nostalgia I have when I go to a arcade as a kid with my quarters.

I’m currently looking at the Mad Catz TE2+, the TES+, the Qanba Q4 RAF, and the Hori RAP4.

I don’t know which one I should get, some of my friends completely stand by the TE2+ because they have it and said it’s an amazing stick.

Help?

Thanks to capcom dragging their feet, you will need either an xinput controller, one of the new ps4 mad catz controllers with their pc driver, or a wrapper program to convert a direct input controller to xinput. Out of the current new sticks I like the te-s+, but really I would recommend watching the trading outlet here for a good deal.

Sadly, I already loaded up the money onto my amazon balance. I have about $250 on amazon.
