What Stick/Controller Should I Buy? Read the Guide on Pg 1 Before Posting

Newegg just changed the release date to 3/31. Fuck off.

That is how the scene is, ether you spend a ton of money importing the stick from Japan or wait for it to come stateside.
Pushed release dates come with the territory.

Just got email confirmation that my TE2+ will arrive this Friday from Amazon. Almost 1 month after I preordered it.

Good thing I made a smart choice

Is there any difference in the PCB between the two? I am leaning towards the V Hayabusa because everything is on the face of the stick rather than the side.

Other way around. V Hayabusa everything is on the side.

Ah, my mistake.

Not really.

Just saw that, fuck me. Fuck Newegg too; it’s not a “release date” when you change it 3-4 times. If you don’t know when you’ll get them just say, “We don’t know when they will be back in stock” because you obviously don’t actually know.

Newegg has nothing to do with it, they are stick reporting the dates that Hori gave them.

Do you mean Madcatz? And yes it is their fault because they claimed multiple different dates as release dates and it just so happened that they learned of the “shortage” on the day they announced as their release date.

If you’ve never worked in purchasing before, companies know weeks in advance when a shipment is coming in. Rylton is right, if you don’t know, at least you don’t lie to your customers in the hopes they keep their order with you. Take a look at what Amazon does, they clearly claim when something might be delayed.

I understand purchasing just fine, I also understand the supply chain and logistics. I seen companies do alot worst than this.

Newegg is going with what they are told from the supplier, Newegg can’t help it if the supplier changes the dates on them.
Also overseas shipping is a factor. A major back up in a Port unloading yard, warehouse or even at customs is good enough to delay the entire shipment, sometimes as much as 6 months.

Example a 2 week union worker strike can create months of back up.

What’s the dimensions on te2+

@Moush what does your order say? Mine says ‘Order Verification’ and the ‘pre-order’ release date is gone. I don’t know if this is a good or bad sign. I’m thinking good but they haven’t charged my debit card yet. Also the sticks look available again to just purchase from their site.

I am not sure honestly but the TE2 is similar to size to most other sticks on the market overall.
It’s a bit wide going from back to front but nothing that make it larger than other sticks.

Hey guys, I’m getting back into fighting games after a long break. My 360 TE (SFxT version) is starting to die out on me, and I want to buy a new stick. I play mostly on PC now (SFV) but would prefer a PS4 stick for when I go to tournaments or a friends house (or are there good converters? I’m open to this option too). I would like an 8 button stick of similar size to the TE, I don’t want something too small as I play on my lap.

I’m pretty used to sanwa parts after 7 years, but I’m sure I could adjust to something similar as long as the parts are quality. I’d rather not mod the stick I buy and void the warranty. My budget is ~$200.

I looked on Amazon and saw the TE2+, the TES+, the HRAP 4 Kai, the HRAP 4 Kai Silent, and the HRAP V Hayabusya (there seems to be 2 versions listed on amazon with different prices, not sure of the differences). The VLX one looks nice but is too expensive ($300) and a bit too large I think. I also remember a few years ago Qanba and Eightarcs were pretty nice but I haven’t kept up with the scene so I’m not sure if they are good products still.

I like the spacious design of the TE2+ over the TES+ so I’ve ruled that one out, but I was hoping you guys could help me decide what to buy.

What’s starting to fail on your SFxT stick? You would be better off replacing wear parts and swapping in a Brook ps3/ps4/pc board than buying a brand new stick, IMO.

Not always true. Yes it be cheaper to some to fix up their stick than to buy a new one. That solution is not the best solution for everyone.

The TE2 has more space and easy access for modding while the TES+ because it does not open is going to feel sturdier

New micro switches and a $40 pcb is much cheaper than dropping $200+, assuming the op is up to the work.

Honestly, I see being able to easily and inexpensively replace parts on arcade sticks as one of the main reasons to own one.

Also, I did not say it is “always” the best solution. This guy has a good case to work with. If he had something that would require lots of drememling, I’d say otherwise.

I’m not sure exactly what component is failing, the stick will be working fine and then randomly it’ll just completely stop working (buttons and stick both, but the light on the xbox logo is still on) for anywhere between 30 seconds to several minutes. If I unplug and replug it does NOT fix the problem, but if I just wait a few minutes it goes back to working properly. This happens unpredictably and often enough to be costing me matches and ruining my experience. It has happened on both my desktop and laptop.

I’m not sure how to diagnose the problem further. I don’t think it’s under warranty now anyways so I’m willing to open it up if you guys can help me.
