What Stick/Controller Should I Buy? Read the Guide on Pg 1 Before Posting

VLX is easier, more space to do stuff in and 3 thumb screws and the whole top lifts up.

Yes.

Thus far, the only “issues” I have ran into working with a VLX is that a full size screw driver barely fits between the panel and case, when removing the bottom screws on the joystick. Use a smaller driver and it will be fine. Of course, the back panel is only held on by a few screws on the bottom of the stick, so getting more space is easy to do.

The Hayabusa buttons aren’t in the RAP Pro 4 Kai but they’re in the newest Pro V Hayabusa and VLX sticks.

None of them have Hayabusa buttons actually because the buttons are Kuro

Hayabusa are the new and improved button.

@Tensho Well the current VLX and HRAPs are still using Kuro buttons. The only stick so far from Hori that would come with the new buttons is gonna be the VLX Falcon.

Never said the current VLX didn’t, he was asking about 2 sticks to buy, the new VLX comes with Hayabusa buttons, Hrap silents come with Kuro still, and you’re wrong again because the new Hrap V Hayabusa comes with Hayabusa buttons too, someone linked you the thread a few posts up, the stick is already out in Japan too.

You mean this? I stand corrected, then. Neither of those sticks are out outside of Japan, tho.

Doesn’t matter where they are located, VLX with Hayabusas can be bought from the American company Arcadeshock.com, Hrap V Hayabusa from Amazon.com

The Falcon is still gonna be some wait but I see your point and I concede, haha.

why the hell do you keep calling it the "falcon"
are you attempting to make hori’s naming schemes less confusing?
because the only thing you’re going to accomplish is confusing even more people when they look for the actual product name

Three reasons, Hayabusa is the Japanese name for the Peregrine Falcon. When Arcade Shock announced the new Premium VLX that featured the Hayabusa Buttons, they referred to them as Falcon, and Hori made a terrible branding choice by calling both the joystick and buttons Hayabusa. Another reason may be that the Vewlix cab the VLX stick is based upon is the “F” color scheme. I doubt that has anything to do with Falcons, but it fits. I don’t know if they did any special branding for the non premium RAPV that features the buttons.

The Falcon is the VLX Falcon… I’m not calling the buttons Falcon.

Hi there, has anyone in this thread actually had the chance to play on the new Madcatz TE2+ and TES+?

I missed the first round of pre-orders, but that is no longer an issue due to legacy support. I am still trying to decide which stick to order. However, I have a few concerns about the differences between the sticks that only someone with hands on experience could answer.

Is there a difference in the button quality? Spacing of the buttons? Height of the stick?

Which stick feels more “solid?” I have found that some of the sticks that are easily modded (Atrox) have a hollow feel when I hit the buttons. This is a deal breaker for me. Essentially, I want a stick that feels like an old TE, not a Atrox or Fightstick Pro. I would take the S+ over the 2+ for this reason alone.

Does the extra distance between the touchpad and your hands seem to matter?

Also, general impressions from anyone who has used both sticks would help.

TES+ doesn’t open with a latch so it will be a more solid stick than the TE2+, just how the TE1 was to the TE2, even the Hrap 4 Kai feels more solid and almost half the price as the TE2.

Based on everyone’s recommendations, I just ordered the VLX Falcon from ArcadeShock. Thanks again.

I wish i could justify dropping some cash on the Shadaloo stick.

Fuck i love that design and shape.

Any thoughts on the “Hori pad ex2” controller? Found one for sale in (allegedly) mint condition.

It looks like it has roughly the same kind of d-pad as the new fighting commander, but the shape is very similar to the stock xbox 360 controller.

Hey guys. I was hoping to get some advice about buying a stick for the impending SF5 PS4 release. I have two concerns: I want to avoid sticks with any obvious issues (e.g., the Kai with it’s input delay) and I would rather not spend hundreds of pounds on a top of the range stick.

I was thinking of getting a second hand PS3 TE1/2 fightstick off eBay. Is that advisable or is there another option of a PS4 stick that is generally preferred?
