What Stick/Controller Should I Buy? Read the Guide on Pg 1 Before Posting

I preordered from Amazon because of the prime discount, but would have much rather had the Ryu preorder costumer. Such is life!

Games generally qualify for “release day” shipping, meaning they ship before release and arrive day of. The chat guy said that the sticks don’t, which is why they’re all coming a day or two later.

YOU GOT THE LAST ONE!

No, still no delivery estimate. I asked them about that and was told it will be updated as soon as they get their supply and ship it.

I placed my order for the TE2+ on amazon on the 31st but I don’t think I made the cut off. I’ll call them up to make sure. I just placed an order for one on newegg so hopefully that one is still available.

Thanks. In the meantime i bought a MadCatz TE Round1 X360 and a Round 2 PS3. In the end i want them both to work with the pi and the ps3. Can you please confirm that the ZD is working on a raspberry and supporting the homebutton/ps3 button to leave a game when playing on ps3.

Are there different edition like Xin-Mo where one edition support home and the other doesnt?

Thanks
Hannes

The Pi works with direct input devices, which the ZD is. I’m 90% sure I used my ps2/ps3/pc ZD with the Pi when I set it up. Tried to double check just now, but apparently my Pi’s video output has stopped working. If you want home button support on ps3, you will need the ps2/ps3/pc model (typically $20 on ebay, make sure you get the Japanese connector version (.110" connections).

Edit: got the pi working, the zd does work with it for certain.

Thanks, PresidentCamacho! I just ordered 2. According to some tutorials for ps360 i wached i need to solder turbo and homebutton, or does these have the connectorthing, too?

I know they aren’t “sticks”, but what is the general consensus on things like the “Cronus”?

Buy Brooks converters.

What’s the difference between the Cronus and a Brooks converter? Which is the best for PS3 to PS4 connectivity for a SC-V stick?

Brook is cool, Cronus is dick.

Thanks for the advice.

You don’t need to solder anything, though you may need an extra button harness if you want a turbo button in addition to 8 face buttons, start, select, and home. If your ZD comes with both a 5 pin and 4 .187" connectors (for directions on a non 5 pin joystick), you could use one of those for turbo (it will be loose on a japanese button, you may want to cut off the .187: and crimp on a .110" if it gives you grief).

Thanks to your hint i ordered the japanese version. Can’t wait to get it

Thanks again!

Cubox
The Gamesmen

I got a TE2 PS4 from Cubox for $300 aus and a Hori UMVC3 360 for $100 aus.

They were the best deals i found but i think there prices have since increased.

I looked into Play-Asia etc but the additional shipping and prospect of a hefty import tax made it not so viable.

Has anyone gotten their delivery estimate for orders made on Amazon?

The suspense is killing me!

If you can get a Brooks converter then your options for a cheaper stick are wide open.

You can get the UMVC3 360 stick for $99 Australian

Or you can get TWO Madcatz Brawl Sticks for $50 the pair.

The Hori is 100% sanwa. Buy a Brooks converter and you have a top stick for around $200 aus.

The Brawl sticks will need buttons and stick replacing as well as the Brooks converter but you should be able to get that done for less than $200 and have a spare stick should a buddy come round.

Ok. I’m looking to buy my first stick for SFV and want to know what’s the best for PS4 for me. With $200 being my max, and durability/ease of use being the two most important factors, what stick should I get? Having joined the FGC a few months ago all I see are ads for MadCatz and when I ask people on forums I hear about more MadCatz and the RAP4 specifically…I’m just kinda lost to be honest and don’t want to waste my money.

Save yourself a couple of bucks and get a HRAP 4 Kai.

Unfortunately, if you want to pick up a stick for SFV at launch you’re only premium option right now is the HRAP4 since the TEs seem to be sold out everywhere.

I can’t comment on how well they play personally, but people seem to really like them so I don’t think it will be too big of a trade off.

Ok, am I insane? I canceled my preorder for the TE2+ and ordered a HRAP V Hayabusa. My logic is… after the frenzy of new game/MCZ sticks dies down TE2+ stock will normalize should I really want it down the line. the HRAP is available now and I have Sanwa parts should I not like the hayabusa/kuro parts. Please don’t tell me I should have kept the TE2+ pre order.
