Just to be clear, on the Brawl, it’s got QD so I can hot swap the buttons without having to do wiring/soldering, right? Ready to take JLF or similar with minimal fitting? Cause if yes to all, or at least to buttons, yeah, maybe it’s time I break down and just track one of the Brawls down.

Thinking about copping this as my first fightstick. Anyone know if its good? Ive read the reviews and it seems legit just want to know if anyone has any personal experience with this
All this Qanba hate. I enjoyed my Qanba for what it was. I got no dropped inputs for the first month and by then I was switching out every component. I got it for 50 bucks for the non Sanwa version and now the only thing original is the wires, the start, select, home, turbo buttons, the USB cord, and the case. The desk clamps are PIMP in my opinion. The Qanba will not beat a 100 dollar stick. It will beat all the 50 dollar sticks. However if you just wait till a tourney major and enter the coupon codes you can get a MC for as low as 70 bucks I think…
EDIT: For those saying the Q1 is a plasticky piece of shit we have this same problem in Airsoft. Just because it’s light doesn’t mean its bad. The ABS used on the case is a decent quality plastic. Clamped to a table the weight is not even something to think about. If you play on your lap or just want that nice weighty feel you can add weight to it (what I did on my knockoff Viewlix). There are many ways to go about such an endeavor. Tungsten and Zinc come to mind most readily. You can even buy Tungsten Putty but that shit is like 2x the price of a block or sheet of the same weight.
I not sure how one of my friends achieved this but their Q1 cut case got warped. I assume they left out in the sun too long. its like the entire thing got a twist in it and now will not stay straight.
Holy crap… Uhhhh never leave your electronics in direct sunlight in a closed car. I’m sure you know this, now your buddy does too. That thing is allllll black, of course it’d store heat. I ruined one of my monitors that way. Had it set up in a bay window of my bedroom on the 18th story in spring. Roasted that shit. The Qanba features a metal top so I don’t know how it got THAT bad.
Madcatz and Hori would probably only benefit from the color variation rather than being jet black. I can’t imagine that being good for your PCB too… considering its enclosed… like an oven.
Hi guys, new member here and recent fighting game enthusiast.
I just ordered my first arcade stick ever–I got the $79 deal on the Madcatz Arcade FightStick Pro. Was this a good deal, and is the quality about all I could ask for in a first stick? I know it uses the Sanwa parts so I assume it’s up there.
Also I keep reading about the Hit Box being pretty great. Would anyone recommend that right off the bat over an arcade stick? I’m not looking to be the best, but I believe I’ll have more fun improving on a stick or the Hit Box than a pad. Because of the price I won’t get both. If the $79 stick was a nice deal I’ll feel better, lol.
hitboxs are good for grapplers imho. and thats a good stick. try buying an octagonal and circle gate and see which you like the best. i cant play with a square gate
Edit: if youre on pc, try using a keyboard if youre questioning a hitbox. its not the same, but youll be able to map the buttons out and get an idea.
Mad Catz stick are pretty good, the Madcatz Arcade FightStick Pro is a Premium Grade arcade stick.
Now Arcade stick compared to a Hitbox? Are you a musician (piano, guitar, anything that needs alot of dexterity) or play alot of fighting games on a PC keyboard?
If yes go with the Hit Box if not go with a Arcade stick.
That the weird part about it, as the stick now has a bit of give or flex to it now. Then again I have friends who have the habit of not following advice, shit happens and I get to say “I TOLD YOU SO!” afterwards.
If it was a sitcom and not real life it would be hilarious.
What Camacho is suggesting is you can convert a existing stick into a Hitbox like controller.
What you have to do is replace the top metal controller panel of a arcade stick with a panel that would have the pattern to support a hitbox-like setup.
Looks like a pretty good stick, don’t have personal experience with that model but Madcatz makes good stuff, Sanwa parts are great, and that price is nice and low. I’d say good deal.
Hitbox is cool and is fine enough for beginners just the same as stick is… It’s a matter of which one you want to learn to use.
Does anyone of you know of a way to purchase an eTokki Omni in Europe? I know that they are currently out of stock anyway but due to shipping and customs it would cost me ~$450 to get my hands on one of those sticks, I sure as hell wont do that. Someone knows of a person who own one (korean version) and is interested in selling it? Because according to eTokkis customers support theres no way around importing it.
