im thinking of getting a q1 next time spooky streams ($10 discount code during streams usually). if i get the q1, ill likely take the stick out of my madcatz and also buy gamerfinger buttons (blues fwiw). i have a 2lb spring, 1mm spacer, and an oct restrictor plate on the stick i have now
whats peoples thoughts on this? i want another stick to share with people that come over and i feel the madcatz te is too big and heavy for my liking.
I prefer bigger and heavier sticks. The weight and size make them much more stable platforms and less prone to sway. The only negative is it’s weight, but that’s not really an issue unless you’re carrying it around for 10 hours straight at a major.
Okay I was thinking the DOA 4 stick. In the past game themed Hori sticks been sub-par. So I guess I jumped the gun there.
And the eBay pricing on it is fair $125 to $200
Oh, C’mon T.T Then, is good? or at least, Can I play USFIV in my pc with him?
Edit: I mean, It is supposed to be like the Hori - SCV, and you put this:
Hori Soul Calibur V (PS3/ Xbox 360) $149.99
Main construction is the same as the Gundam sticks, but the outer case differ greatly in design.
Quality: Full Sanwa
Reliability: Very Good
Ease of Mod: Difficulty 1. Common ground Yes
Note: flip door for start button
I know there are some differences between this two models, but… they aren’t so problematic, so Hori DoA5 is supposed to be a good stick, Isn´t it? The Hori SCV works on pc? And Doa5?
Ty! Then i’ll buy it, because my other choices are the Madcatz Pro and Madcatz SCV, but the hori is cheap in comparation >.< And for what i see, the madcatzs aren’t better, but they are more expensive… is justified?
Well, In Spain we haven’t that offer, I raged a few days ago for that, so… right now, they are like 30$ or more over the hori… And my question is: ¿Are they better than the hori? o.o
Ah yeah, forgot that was you, lol. I’d buy the Hori if I were in your shoes then. Same parts and a good pcb, only big difference is the case itself. I actually like the Hori’s button layout better than the Pro’s, but I’d definitely have to replace that super generic artwork.
The DOA version has an Astro City layout (A3/X). The TTT2, SCV, and non-game licensed version have Noir (N3/X). I still prefer Astor City over Vewlix but I’m a sucker for Noir.
What are the sources on these occasional drop inputs? To what degree is the problem surfacing? Can it be rectified by swapping out with aftermarket Sanwa or Seimitsu parts? Or is it something PCB or deeper?
I’m considering one of these Q1 cause I like the way they look, I love cheap stuff and to my knowledge this is the only stick in this price range that you can quick swap the buttons and joystick on. I can do it to some extent but I really, really, really hate rewiring and soldering.
I’d love to have one to play around with but the idea of being stuck with something that drops inputs, even at that price point, is just not acceptable to poor fokes like me!
Thanks for reading thanks for responses. Not calling anyone out or anything but if we do have sources on this can they be edited into the original post? Cause if they’re somewhere in this thread, dang, it’s a monster of a thread to have to dig through for them tidbits.
Sources are from reports of other players and modders here on SRK.
To what degree is the problem surfacing? After a few weeks or so the symptoms will appear and the droped inputs will get worst over time.

Cheap Quality PCB
Honestly I would skip getting the Q1 Cut all together, this barely made it to my guide as its the borderline for cut off.
You are better off finding a Mad Catz SF 4 SE, TVC or Brawl stick, atleast they got metal top and bottom panels.
