I agree with you, Inverse, 100 percent.
It’s funny, if I were to do an ultra that left a pixel of health and I finished my opponent off with a special for a chip damage win some people would consider it cheap. But lets say I happened to throw, for the sake of argument, a hadoken that was blocked BEFORE I landed the same ultra resulting in the same dmg dealt. It wouldnt be considered cheap.
That damage will always be there, who cares if its in the start, middle or the killing blow? If people are gonna bitch about chip damage kills they might as well bitch about ALL the chip damage they take. Chip damage can mean win or loss, regardless of where it occurs in a battle.
Cheap is when you are playing face to face versus a friend, and he knocks your beer over to distract you, then Ultras you while you are trying to keep it from spilling.
Ask me know I know.
Amen sister!
Oh HELL no! Now that’s some fuckin’ bullshit. You askin’ for a fight at that point. Forget Street Fighter, that’s my beer you spillin.
You know sorry to go back on this ridiculous topic, but I started thinking the other day (zomg I know right?) and I realized… what if scrubs feel spammers are cheap because the pros don’t do it?
I mean you see these high level videos of these guys and they aren’t tossing cheap tactics… what gives?
Maybe…maybe it’s because those tactics… are so ridiculously punishable that, it would get them killed? Wait a minute, but they are cheap tactics… meaning, impossible to counter. Impossible to defeat or punish… what do these top level players know that I don’t? Strange…
I wish there was a forum, or a wiki, or a website or a place where people gathered to figure this kind of thing out. Would be nice if it was free, I hate Prima. Damn, does such a place exist? Damn these pros and their SECRETS!
yes, that was me!!! i told you guys i wasn’t lying. im 100% serious in the things i tell you guys. oh and your guile is no different than a 5 year old mashing the controls. i pwn with zan and you got so lucky you should have turned the game off and went out to play the lottery instead of wasting that luck in street fighter.
qftqftqftqftqftqftqft
couldn’t have put it better myself
oh man, i see there are alot of people coming forward about this after i brought it up now. i’m only guessing you guys are scared of what other people say and are scared of getting flamed just because your opinion is different from everyone else’s. good to see that i had to make myself an example for more people to come forward and understand what i was trying to say.
beautifully said.
I know right!
I was like “Hey, I don’t mind losing in SF but that is ALCOHOL ABUSE!”.
:arazz:
This is why we need to implement a government mandated IQ test for reproductive rights.
In your own words, you got beat by a 5 year old. The Nike forum is throwing a tournament that you may be interested in.
So, the fact that he beat you so **BADLY ** that you just had to send him a picture of your middle finger means what, that you’re a four-year-old lariat spamming monkey? Am I about right?
My brother did the same thing to me when I was killing his Ryu with my Chun. Except instead of beer it was his fist and instead of spilling it was punching me in the face >_>
thank you. i AM a member at niketalk. i will check it out. lol.
In your guys’ opinion, is it even worth responding to hate mail? I mean sometimes the results can be hilarious if you keep going back and forth but in the end its like talking to a wall…
Just make sure they write down those unwritten rules or else others might forget about them
That post was with regards to what was happening back in the 90s around where I was. It has little bearing on things now, as it has been said before; play to win.
Also, yes skilled players knew how to avoid such situations like wake up dp to pass through fireballs and the like. Top players have strategies that put them apart from the rest.
I’m stating that rules like that did exist in many arcades and why people coming from a SF2 background are complaining now. Many old-new players haven’t played SF since SF2. These players need to update and adapt to today’s way of playing. I’m not saying they are justified just giving context and history to their rules.
that made no sense. you sound like you are trying to kiss someones ass.
i knew that you and parabellum were of the few 2009 members that didnt suck, well said bro, totally agree
your post on cheese was awesome. because i know i am not the only one who remembers those unwritten rules of sportsmanship. damn i forgot about EGM writing those articles. see, i brought those same arguments here and i got nothing but sarcastic and nasty teenagers joke about those same unwritten rules that they were not even born yet to hear about… then have the audacity to say they were “written in invisible ink” or whatever other corny sounding shit was said and im not sure if that is sarcasm, comedy, or ignorance… let’s put it to rest and get back OT about me sending you fools my middle finger when you turtle guile… as ive said multiple times before in previous posts. i never meant to steer off topic. my initial post was totally on topic. it was other people that wanted to hate, flame and blow my loyalty of actually playing with skill wayy out of proportion. although i am thankful for it because i have learned a few things from your responses and the few links that have been posted, i also do not want to break the rules or cause any problems on srk so please let’s get back to the topic. if you would like to debate if consiously playing like a retard just because you rather win than show ability then feel free to contact me directly via srk or xbox live. maybe even move the posts over to the cheese thread and link me. i will come join and we can debate this issue til its a bloody pulp. basically what ive learned from this is that there is no mercy and no dignity in SF4. people don’t think too highly of themselves or are scared of defeat so they will be as dirty as they can possibly be as long as it involves them winning. initially i thought it was a bunch of noobs who only knew one move and wanted to be cheese. i didnt bother to think that these people are completely capable of actually playing the game (using punches and kicks) but refrain from doing so because they KNOW they can get by with simpler tactics. i expected everyone to be a nice guy like me and obviously that was totally wrong and stupid. no matter what the situation is, no one has to think like you and no one will… so now i will get into these peoples heads and try my best to avoid their bullshit. not everyone is right. not everyone is wrong. but you guys are right… the rules that we CAN agree on have been programmed into the game.
