I know this isn’t the place but I’m not sure that there is one so i’ll post it here since throwing is always mentioned here.

I wanted to thank all of the members of SRK for improving my game 100 fold. The most import aspect of which is throwing and tech throwing. I’ve only been a member of this forum for less than a month and have already grown more as a player in that time frame than I have since the 90’s when I first started playing SF.

I was until just recently among the ranks of the “throwing is cheap” crowd and honestly thought I was in the right. I thought it was widely accepted that throwing was a BS tactic and you shouldn’t do it. This was something learned in the arcades way back when that never seemed to go away.

Anyhow, after reading these forums and watching you tube videos of the best players in the world it became painfully obvious that I was an idiot and that if I was going to improve my game I was going to have to learn how to defend against the throw and to utilize it effectively.

Now I can’t help but feel bad for all the players that complain about throws and get so upset because i was that guy too. So to all of you who have that old school shameful feeling about throwing, take the time to learn the tactics involved and come to terms with it. lol Seriously though, once you understand it you can counter it. If you don’t like getting thrown then take it away from your opponent and they won’t be able to do it.

Thanks to all of you guys/girls for showing me the light and making me realize that the person being cheap is the one who is cheating themselves by not learning to defend and counter whatever tactic it is that’s frustrating them.

Not much today, mostly "GG"s. I managed to pick up some BP at least.

Got a “Nice Ryu” from from a cool Dhalsim player. He thwomped me in the first round but I came back to win the second and third. Fucking Dhalsim always gets my head rolling… that’s really an intense matchup for me.

Also lost a match to elf’s loop, and one to a really fucking good dan who for some reason only had 2000 bp… I guess because he’s playing as dan?

Anyways, watch out for “Kon9ress” on XBL. He picked Zangief after like 20 seconds at the character screen and jumped into a lot of srks. I made some mistakes and gave him the chance to SPD me a couple times, it made me lose round 2, but he dropped right before I won round 3 by like 80%. I sent him a nice message but so far he hasn’t logged off, looks like he actually ragequit instead of just exiting to the dashboard. Don’t play with him if you see him.

oberfuhrer said this wouldn’t be the first time he was mentioned on srk, so apparently he has been through all of this before. Which when you think about it makes perfect sense. Probably the most hilarious thing is that he thinks everyone here is a “chink”

I was going to ignore him as I do most ragemails, but I just had this sense that he would be more entertaining than most.

The real amazing part is, if you saw the match. I SWEAR nobody in their right mind would think a ragemail would be forthcoming. My blanka is very, very, very basic. Jump roundhouse, low roundhouse, ball, punish wiffs, etc. It is so straightforward.

I forgot to add that he ragequit at the end. It was a player match.

Yeah. Apparently he is quite the star here. And now that I think of it I’m pretty sure he sent me a ragemail for hdr. With the way I play chun, I’m sure he did, if we ever played.

I was playing this guy, I immediately choose Seth and he goes over and picks Dhalsim. He goes (on mic) “Why’d you pick Seth… noooooob?”

So I say he’s fun to play and he basically goes on like this. I win the first rd and he says you’re such a noob. Then he very narrowly wins round 2 and goes “How’d you lose a round with Seth… noob?”

Lawl I owned him in round 3.

I usually get GGs. If I get it from a better player, I usually say something along the lines of ‘thanks for the lessons’. If I get it from a player less skilled I usually give a tip or two.

Today I got my first voice message. It was a hate one too. It was filled with a lot of F bombs and c@cks. I actually kind of laugh because the guy was the quintessential ‘Ken scrub’ (everything was DP and j.RH + c.rh). I just filed a complaint and called it a day.
