"what other players msg you after you beat them" SF4 Edition

“fuck you spammer wtf”

I lol’d

Tee2005IsBlack- “Give me a chance to move scrub”

Me- “How about learn to block scrub.”

Tee2005IsBlack- “Block? That’s easy. Hard scrubs like you don’t give a chance to move. Get some skills bitch”

Me -“WHy would I let you move? I’m trying to win lol.”

Tee2005IsBlack -“Like I said scrub, hit me back when you get some skills bitch.”

:bluu::bluu::bluu: Someone got their feelings hurt I guess…

Funny how the person who lost tells the person who won to get some more skill

Exactly. If I’m playing someone who I’m clearly better than, I exit after the first match.

It’s not who you pick it’s how you play them. I don’t mind playing any character, but when you pick Ken and shoryu constantly sometimes for no good reason then that shit’s annoying. Because shotos are scrub friendly it happens that that’s where you see this type of thing.

I’m going to have to disagree with this. You can learn something from almost any match. Scrubs in SF are alot like poker novices. They’re so inexperienced that their ignorance can sometimes be an advantage. It’s like the old saying “ignorance is bliss”. I play alot of Chun and Bison. Without EX both of them don’t have close anti air options. As such I’ve gotten the timing down on my FA anti air. I’ve also worked dash under -> punish into my game. In addition playing all of those Ken Fierce DP spammers has taught me how to look and see whether my opponent’s side says “reversal” before I try to play with them on wakeup. The reason many scrubs are scrubs is because they know very little about the game, and often times they will repeat what they believe to be a winning formula. By working your way around it you learn from it.

I tend to hang around if I’m a lot better for awhile, since I’ve had very kind players when I was getting into 3S who were way better than me give me long sets to learn. I learn things somewhat from reading forums and practicing, but I learn best just playing matches over and over.

So if someone I’m just destroying wants to keep playing I usually give them a bit, since I always appreciate it when better players do it for me.

But in those situations all you’re learning is how to become better at beating scrubs. In a way it’s almost counter productive because you run the risk of becoming complacent in your strategy. You’ve blocked the high-risk reversal DP so many times that once you fight a good player, you start getting thrown on their wakeup when you didn’t before. You start expecting the obvious jump ins and end up dashing right into a big combo when the experienced player DOESN’T jump. Being able to penetrate the scrub playstyle does not help you prepare for high-level play.

Um, no. I just now know what beats what. I’m not dumb enough to push up against anyone on their wakeup so I’m going to have distance anyway (depending on their wakeup options at the time). Being good is about knowing your options. And because I’m still getting used to the feel of the new system I have a better idea of what does and doesn’t work.

yeah what u say is true. so many scrub would just do wake up fierce dp that i started baiting them out. dash after sweep and dash back and whiffed wake up dp and throw repeat. if know its a pro player who does a lot of medium dp i will mix it up. i was once msg that i was a throwing cheapasshat, i replied and said you should learn not to miss dp its not my fault theres a big opening. he replied back that i was getting desperate cause i was turtling with low hp and he came at me and whiffed a dp and i threw him to win the match why would i do something else if that window gave me guaranteed victory lol. result matters over what traditional players think what is fair or not. capcom wouldn’t implement it in the game if it was cheap. Was also called i had no skill cause i did no combo when obviously i was outpoking him…im like uh? what? if i read your skill i would utilize that. on a side note the point is if you recognize a pro u should obviously have some strat if something isnt going as planned. mix up is the key against pros and works they dont do wake up dp! yosh jump in crossover.

Haha, I know. As soon as the char select screen comes up, I go pick my character with the quickness, and then they sit there wasting the whole time with their cursor hovering over some character they never even have the intention of playing, and then switch to Ken just before time runs out. Lol, it’s not like I can cancel my character selection after I pick it anyway, so their doing that is rather gratuitous (unless they do it for a mindgame or something to try to annoy opponents).

I haven’t received any rage mail yet though, but perhaps in due time I will. I did get a “nice fight” from someone after winning a close match in ranked. I was completely expecting to get raged on. Maybe it’s just hard to get mad at Cammy :wonder:

today after beating a sagat for the second time:

“why so much blocking? fight me already”

ah yes, I abused the offensive block for the wins.

I fought a decent guy who could actually play with Ryu even though he ran away the whole time and beat me.

He complained that I threw way too much and it takes the fun out of the game.

We played player matches afterward and I beat him 8-1.

No hate mail yet, just a few kicks from people I beat a couple of times and people who probably see my gold Abel title (even if it’s the first of the hard trials and is pretty easy to get).
About disconnects: before the game came out I heard (Here)that pullers would have still lost their BP. Can anyone confirm?

The best is when they hover over Ryu and then switch to Ken at the last second. Always reminds me of the Dr Sub-Zero quote: “For my first trick I’ll play Ken. Then, I’m going to do a total 180 degrees and play… Ryu.”

My other favourite is when I select Claw in three seconds, then they spend about 20 seconds scrolling over every character portrait at least three times. I’m not sure if they’re weighing up who will be the best counter-pick to the weakest character in the game, or trying to unlock Shadow Lady. Then they pick Ken

I got a GG praise email from one dude,

so so fare 1-GG positive email and 1-one guy with no BPs bragging that I got no BP points awarded for his fight

Playing as Akuma

I was playing as akuma against a terrible ken player and he said

“gay ass pussy noob runaway shit”

This guy whiffed on everything…

I’ve not gotten any negitive comments just a lot of players that leave after I win 1 or 2 matches the only messages I’ve have recieved are friend requests. I even had a noob lose to me 15 times and still got a gg message from him. I’ve found SF4 to have a very friendly online presence as far the PS3 version is concerned.

I haven’t gotten any hate mail towards my gaming yet. A little good game messages and friend requests here and there, but nothing more.

Got a rather fun message the other day:

“Good combos! You’re a beast!”

I was playing Blanka :p.

No hatemail yet. Prob because I only play vs players I know to avoid HDR lolcrap.

i always get messages saying good fight and shit like that.
