What MOV tried to teach me

pre-emptive pokes are guesses counter pokes aren’t if they are really counter pokes. back fiercing an extended move has no real guess aspect.
meaties are guesses too.

but yeah i did mean more of in a parry in your face type of way in general.

the whole game is about guessing lol.

makoto is full of guessing. no matter how good your defense is, you must guess when makoto chokes you. thats why even kuroda gets hit by spammed hayates all the time. attempting to parry a denjin is guessing. deciding to have balls on jumping away from a denjin is guessing. you have one pixel of life left and you guess how your opponent might chip you. thats guessing. you guess what your opponent might do next on wake up.

guessing is part of fighting games and especially in third strike due to the parry feature.

Scrub.

back fiercing an extended move might not have a guess aspect but Using Cr.Fierce at two shorts distance to hit out a standing strong between ken’s is pretty guessy. But even that’s just one of the many that I was referring to. Pre-emptive pokes = PARRY BAIT

3s is all guesses imo… Just a matter of measuring risk/reward of your actions.

ie: is it worth doing A knowing B, C or D will likely follow?

Too many yes’s = jungle
Too many no’s = turtle

Can the theory fighters go somewhere else please? Makes it hard to find the useful posts in here.

5 star - when you say MOV would get on the ps2 and research frames, you remember any examples of what he might have practiced?

are you following us? I think that’s all we really have left to do here. Yi is off playing handball and hating on ffa, duh.

Blold

Key word is “research”. There was really no set plan, but we would play around with certain moves and use the frames to understand them.

For instance, one thing we discovered was after Ken parries Chun Li’s standing RH, Chun Li player can’t SJC into Super Art if Ken player does instant jab SRK. Jab SRK is 2 frames, and Hoyoukosen is 3 frames, super art can NEVER come out.

This is why many Chun Li players use low jab into Hoyoukosen after parry. For instance, if Ken player does low forward SRK, Chun Li player can parry low forward and do crouching jab super and not have to worry about the SRK coming out and beating her move, crouching jab will beat the SRK because of the frames.

Personally, I just practice best punish and reversal timing. Best punish being after a parry, using frame data, using the best move to do the most damage. Reversal timing is also very important in my style of play. I think the key to Ken players is frame data and reversal punish. Best way to practice is set parrying mode dummy to doing a move that can be reversaled, and practicing the timing of when to buffer. I think maybe best way to practice this is vs Yun standing fierce because of the delay.

thats a great example Yi, ima try that this weekend

P.S: i should play you in handball when i go back to Cali lol

I don’t play handball lol. That is the BFF crew’s game Vinny, Pyro, Kazmire.

This is like in the WWF when vince mcmahon talks shit on the undertaker and then the undertaker comes out and takes a shit on him.
