Winning
for me it’s all drive. i dont get salty, and if i catch myself starting to get upset, i reset my mind, and get into kill mode. this has taken alot of practice, lol, but it works. when i get beat bad, i just resolve within my mind that i will beat this opponent, even if it takes years, i’ll improve, crack their code, and win. allowing myself to become salty in the first place is a weakness, because then my opponent is in my head. you want to have the reverse effect on THEM, be a bullet proof zombie that keeps coming at them, unphased by loss. no matter how much you lose or how badly you are beaten, just keep working them out. be irritatingly tenacious, cause them grief by thinking through their strategy, match after match, until the slip up. By then you’re senses and reflexes will be tuned and you’ll be in place to take full advantage of their lapse in focus. cause them to be salty by their inability to dominate an otherwise weaker player. that’s how some great players are born!
Clearly this is the only right answer :wgrin:
exactly, I’m not in an sf tourney to feed my family.
Isn’t it obvious…?
It’s sugar.
Easy. Take anger management classes from Mike Ross. —>

In addition to my previous comments, this too, finally someone says it.
People that overuse “salty” every minute are just as bad as people that say “scrub” every chance they get.
It’s pretty much top of the line “I’ll forever be a virgin” slang.
I agree with this!!
lol i’ve never actually heard this term used outside of the internet, but DO understand that enraged feeling you get when you get completely owned despite your best efforts. the term must be a california thing  i used to hang out alot in the south west and we just called it in english-ish (“he/she really whooped you. try harder next time” or “wow that guy made me eat dirt.”)
gotta love esoteric inter-slang:wgrin:
learning from your mistakes.
when i lose to someone i know ima better than but lost to cheap spamming tricks my own fault i get so mad i wanna throw my acrade stick out the window and quit but instead i watch my fight blogs and tryn to learn from my mistakes.then i think maybe valle ,daigo and j.wong are just blessd with this talent and ill just be a scrub 4 life i get lost try to refocus at the end the day anything u take serious and lose at in life u will be salty about i just practice everyday. i main sagat so u know im always salty!
Losing to genuinely good players makes me not angry.
I just take the ass kicking as a learning experience.
kidneys and/or dialysis
What makes me SALTY is all all the godam scrub ass characters let me name them Ryu Ken akuma zangief T.Hawk Vega Blanka and Sim and Dan and ESPEEEEEESSSSSSIALLY FKEN EL FUERTE 90% of the people who play them play like a scrub for grapplers all they do is jump grab vega and blanka turtle and when u get near them they attack and u cant do anything el fuerte once he knocks u down its all over all he does is tortilla or body slam when u wake up i cant reversal dan at all after he does his 3 kick thing dahlsim just run s away and uses his long arms and leg attacks >.> and u all know thats true
I love it when folks get salty when they lose to people they were “supposed” to beat. Happens in all sort of competition, sports, videogames, Monopoly, whatever. Like my man Chuck Barkley says, you’re only as good as your record. Your idea of your opponent’s skill means nothing. You lost. Stop investing in Morrison and move on.
How did I not see this before? I might make this my quote lol
i might say damn if I lose, but thats about it. I have friends that cry like little girls when they lose and its annoying.
this
i try to see each match as a learning experience. i act more like an asshole when i win and dont break a sweat, ie: when you play a blatant turbo/masher person.
I don’t get salty too often offline.
Online, if I’m facing people with a higher skill level than me, if I lose I recognize that they’re better than me and I can learn what I did wrong, so next time things will turn out better for me.
Otherwise, Shotos + Lag= pisses me right off
