What most people define as ‘anime’ for fighting games, is aesthetic. The character design, is it drawn in the manga/anime style? If it could be boiled down to one thing, this is it.

Too much colorful sparkly-cute Moe shit. Most of the games scream GIRL POWER! Keep the game in a style more like SF/KOF. Moe is cute and every game needs one or two, but not the whole or even most of the game.
I guess I would say, make a game and pretend the entire roster is male while making it. And then at the end, replace 80% of the dudes with sexy ladies.
Then leave the game alone, let the sexiness flow naturally. I don’t need the characters to get into fucking positions for win poses. I can see all that ass and titties while they’re fighting.

X-Men is anime. Since Capcom is anime, and Marvel is anime, Marvel vs Capcom 3 is the most anime game of all time!
I hate it when japan has all female fighters becuase they OD and put it on some sexual little girls shit. If we could just have a little more class in the characters like Skullgirls and Melty Blood does, then i’ll be on board. But shit, games are like marketed to pedofiles or some shit.
The girl power thing just makes it embarrassing to play in the day light when people come over.

Oi, manga was based on comic books, so we originated in anime. So technically nothing is anime, everything is american comics.
X-Men anime storm is hella hot. I need to get around to watching those Marvel animes actually. I saw Wolverine and Iron Man but missed a ton of episodes.
I don’t think most of them are that interesting. The X-men, and Blade is okay.
Agreed, bring on the chix, mane! I’ve never had a problem with girl fighters, either except it doesn’t take a lot to make eye candy for me, so most of the time, they do go overboard.
Only X-Men and Blade are worth watching, also the new Iron Man anime movie: Rise of Technovore is as sexy as fuck.

Well it’s a good thing those are the only ones I haven’t seen. The Wolverine anime, it was…ehh. I didn’t like that he didn’t have as big of a threat to him as I expected (a middle aged samurai? And the REAL final boss after that was even worse) and I never saw anything in Iron Man to go “WOAH SHEIT DAS AWSUM”.
But minor gripe about X-Men anime from that pic posted, why is Wolverine almost taller than Cyclops? Guy’s a damned midget.
I remember when Melty Blood got voted in as an Evo game and the FGC was full of “LOL THAT GAME IS FULL OF LOLIS AND PANTY SHOTS”, even though MB has mostly full grown women and not a single frame of panties. Never change, FGC. Never change.
Even better, on the mvc3 section, when they announced Phoenix Wright for umvc3, I remember well how certain members where complaining about how loliesque did he look.
God, I feel sorry for the MB fans. Watching that evo stream for MB was the first time I saw non trailer gameplay for the series and people just talked nothing but shit about it for no reason. But tis the interwebs…

Ah ha ha ha ha! You can’t judge a fighting game as “anime” based on mechanics, you sillies! It all depends on the art style! Besides, just because it’s an anime fighter doesn’t make it a bad fighter, either. Though, there are PLENTY of BAD anime fighters out there (thankfully P4A not being one of them).
Why are you people so dumb? I’ve only been here five minutes, and already some senior members have already debunked a lot of the stupid things that have been said about anime fighters on here! Someone fill me in, just how stupid are these people? What am I dealing with? I want to know if I should leave or not, because I have a feeling that this might not be as educated of a forum as I first thought, considering that most of you are fighting game fans, and should probably know what you’re dealing with by now.
In response to the actual topic at hand, the ONLY thing that makes an anime fighter an anime fighter is the art style. No ifs, ands or buts (some of you may be talking out of one, but hey, I’ve only been here five minutes).
