Yeah I’m definintely the ONE TRUE STYLE, or potentially THE INVINCIBLE, because of my expert use of YOMI.
Seriously though, this depends on the game. If I’m playing SF, I’ll block for days until I can flash kick some shit, but if I’m playing TVC, that won’t work as well.
Playing normally? I attempt some scrubbish parody of rushdown.
Playing as Dan? Woohoo! I’m awesome! What’s your problem? Piece of cake! Woohoo! What’s your problem? Here I come! Put your back into it! Piece of cake!
Rushdown. I’ll annoy my opponent with pressure, mixups, and the like until they screw up, or until they turtle so much that I can dash in for a throw. In relation to Sirlin’s article, I’m a bit of The Attacker and The Obsessed.
Attacker, definitely. I usually realize at about 50% health that I might want to try blocking, but trying to land the next combo always supersedes that notion…
But are you guys seriously asking people to believe just about all of you are “rushdown beasts”?
Just because you do a combo on somebody, doesn’t make your style “rushdown”. Just because you run up to somebody and mash lk or lp doesn’t mean you are “aggressive”.
I’m betting at least half the posters here wish they could rushdown half as well they think they do. And before you ask, no, I don’t consider my style “rushdown”, I just play the match and try to win.
