I really didn’t play any of the SFIIIs outside of 3S and that’s still how I felt about Ryu. “Leik why pick him when you can just use Ken?” I didn’t know he was actually better in the previous SFIIIs, go figure.
The Capcom vs SNK game for the PS1 had an option to make characters run instead of dash, and that version of Ryu was REALLY interesting imho, but I’m going to have to go with MVC1 Ryu. It’s the only ryu that could actually transform to and from Evil form mid fight, which I think is how Evil Ryu ‘should’ be, instead of a separate character.
Oh lawd, man. 2I Ryu with double denjin is crazy. Like, it’s self explanatory. An unblockable super that stuns AND the ability to use EX moves? Not to mention he could stun you and then stun you again if he had the meter, just to make sure you were stunned. And hell, I never toyed around with setups since I never bothered to get training mode running for it (since I only played it on ggpo and kalleria) but since there’s no red parry, red parry denjin setups in 3S would be unblockables in 2I in theory.
But you don’t feel shinryuken in the nuts when you get hit by it… You’re just like, “Ok, every time Ken spins around, his dick and balls flop you, that’s why there’s so many hits”. So your manhood goes into hiding because it doesn’t want to cross swords.
When ShinSho hit you, your manhood goes into hiding because it’s scared for its very life.
