What is your favorite version of Ryu?

What A2 and CvS2 are you playing dude, because A2 Ryu is maybe the most versatile of the “big” 4 of the game (can play ANY fucking angle, rush, zone turtle, you name it) and CvS2 Ryu was a BEAST before RC (could rush like mad on N/K groove), and its really solid on C-Groove after RC was found.

Doesnt anyone love EX Ryu? crazy ambiguous crossups, combos that do mad damage and are easy and hit confirmable, lp dp into tatsumaki super, triple hk kicks into shinkuu hadou into tatsumaki, cr mk into hadou into shinkuu hadou into tatsumaki super, f+mk goes over LOWS and can be supercanceled, and thats only on the first two games… in EX 3 is where Ryu is really DAT NIGGA

V-ryu has everything A2 ryu has only a Fuckton more. There are so many situations he can create in A3, A2 is more like his ST incarnation, not that its bad of course. Too bad the second anyone hears A3 they think immediately of crouch cancels, guard crushes etc. but ryu is 120% complete in that game.

I don’t know much about CVS2, but can’t Sagat do pretty much everything ryu can only better? Daigo used to go ham w/ N-ryu jab pressure, I’m not sure if that works in a world w/ rc blanka. Love the game but not feeling late-game ryu

TvC, 2I/3S, and SFxT Ryu. Any version where he has a (EX) donkey kick along with shinsho is cool in my book. Denjin is sick too.
I don’t really play mvc3, but I like watching people like RayRay still rocking Ryu.

New Generation Ryu and his 3 hit shinsho destroys all other versions.

3S Ryu. At least he’s pretty different and while Denjin is very gimmicky it’s still pretty cool to see it being used in a smart way. He can’t play the fireball war like in the other games and has to mix it up.

V-Ryu can’t really zone as well as his other incarnations. Not in a game where getting hit at full screen deals as much damage as blocking.
