Ummmm what? Throws are really really good in this game. You can’t throw anyone in SF4 since the best option is to always crouch tech.
this thread has taught me that people have no idea about sf4’s mechanics or how that game plays at high levels
I’m really hoping they overhaul a lot of the mechanics in this game. I love the idea of the game, but as many people in this thread have stated, offensive pressure is not good at all.
It’s sad when I’m supposed to be getting in your face with Xiaoyu, but instead I’m forced to play footsies with her crappy limbs until I get an opportunity to land her ground bouncing overhead.
Perhaps everyone knows this already but it’s not possible to crouch tech in sfxt. Or am I totally off?
The broken tactic of throwing tekken chars out of their target combos that don’t put you into 100% block stun… now only characters with dps can do it! Much better!
I play Chun in ST.
Upside. It forces players to use normals etc better. Throws will be rarer but still good.
Could you imagine the bs if Rolento was in sf4? He’d be a tick throw monster.
You still can
Again why does it encourage better normal use when blocking is so good?
I mean between weaker throws and alpha counters when I am being pressured I have no reason not to block.
Uhm, I’ve been trying for a bit and it doesnt feel like sf4 crouch tech at all. O.o
It is more delayed but you can.
Look, we all know that this game was made for fanboys and whiny SRK noobs alike. The game has clunky wack mechanics. If you really think this game is better than SF4 (which is a game I loathe) then you’re really delusional and REALLY wanted a new game to play so bad that instead of eating the diarrhea that is SF4 you chose the actual shit.
This is SSMB 64… play it like it’s SSMB 64. That’s why is 2v2 at EVO. People thought it was going to be serious played it when it came out found out it was a joke game for fun with your girlfriend and decided that the only way it would even be remotely hype is if it was 2v2 with hopes of teammates dropping combos and popping off at each other etc.
Yeah, the timing is different. Because of how much slower throws are I would get my cr.lk out but get thrown before it’s active frames.
@Broryuken
Wrong thread? What’s up with random people that clearly don’t care about the game having to rant all over the place when there’s a thread for ranting? lol
Not trying to argue at all, I agree with you on the defensive end 100%.
I just feel that since throws are weaker players who are reliant on throws (like me) will have to be smarter with normals since if I get stupid you can alpha counter me or i leave myself open to punishment if I use an unsafe one.
Can someone explain to me how throws in sf4 were good when you could never ever throw someone? In this game throws are actually good again.
How are they better when they have 2 frames more on startup and a much shorter range? That’s not even arguable.
I’m not really sure what the problem is…throws work. Why is anyone trying to throw people from any farther away anyways? Why are you using them outside of your in-close mixup game?
I play against Akuma’s/Cammy’s, etc. that use tick throws the exact same as in Sf4. Seriously, they work. You have to know the range and condition your opponent, just like with anything. Nobody remembers SF4 being called ‘Throw Fighter 4’ for basically all of vanilla?
I seriously don’t get it, are throws really that huge a part of your game? Then I dunno, open your mind a little bit. Are you complaining because you can’t just walk up throw all day from max jab range? Seriously? As opposed to 300+ damage off of any light attack? Question mark?
If they have the gem, well then fuck them out of their meter, it’s not like its any different than if they had read the throw coming and tech’d it, except that you steal a meter from them, IMO that’s in your favor (that bar could have been a switch cancel, an alpha counter, a super, an ex move, etc). If you’re competing that’s not exactly a problem. And it’s not like it’s unfair as you have your own gems with positives that YOU chose. Do all three slots meter gems with both characters and be quiet already.
Imagine Heihachi, hwoarang, etc. with a throw range any longer or faster than what they have. You think that would make the game better? You think you would complain LESS? HA!
Every time a ignorant post is made an angel loses their brain
Ooh, sick burn.
…wait.
Hey buddy. Normal or delayed crouch tech gets blown up by frame traps, after a while they sometimes stop cr.teching if you nail them with the frame trap often enough, allowing you to throw. with blanka I often only need one throw to win a round because of his unblockables, so frame traps were used a lot.
I know u know that obviously, I get ur point, cr.tech is retarded, but it does open them up to damage at high level. It’s like the meta game has been shifted out of reach of normal players, I think it’s a bad thing tbh.
