And frankly, some things you posted sounds a little confusing (at least for me - more since I’m not an english speaker, and hystorian, not a social scientist).
It’s only really politcally heated in America and to a lesser extent the UK thanks to all the years of rampant feminism. The years of extreme feminist propaganda and its infiltration into the academic circle have done its work; it’s now the norm and almost expected for both men and women to male bash, it’s all because men have had so much power and control for so long in our society that there’s so much wrong (or as seen in this thread it’s because guys in tournaments have bad hygiene, and are ugly creepy losers that’s scaring away all the women – god forbid you suggest that maybe females as a general rule inherently don’t have interests in these sort of tournaments).
And of course today it’s hip and intellectual to say things like women and men inherently are the same and that any differences in their interests and behavior is all attributed to arbitrary societal gender roles (i.e. the only reason Jane would rather play tea party with her doll collection and not play hunt down the terrorists with Bill is because that’s the way she’s been raised). Right… LOL God forbid you suggest that perhaps these differences in interest and behavior originates in something innate and rooted in biological gender differences rather than just external societal conditioning/programming, because then you’d just be an ignorant misogynist living in the past when men didn’t know any better. Sure.
Exceptions exist, but exceptions exist in almost any phenomena (e.g. not every guy is straight, some females and “tomboyish” type of behavior, etc.). Just because there are exceptions doesn’t automatically negate everything according to the general rule.
I sort of get to what you’re after in these posts, but they are long and I don’t think they’re going to be an adequate primer of where I’m coming from since orka at least has some background social sciences and that’s what set me off. With that said, this topic definitely brings to mind the"easiest solution is often the correct one"…in this case that women are not in the FGC as much because they are as interested in it as men.

Yeah, I’ve only been to one tournament so far, and there were some smelly people there. Sadly enough, a decent majority of gamers I know on campus have some BO issues. I don’t understand it myself; is it really that hard to step into a shower at least once a day? If I’m sitting multiple seats away from a person and I still have to cover my nose, there’s a serious problem going on.

I think the problem is the that many of the tourney venues are close to lots of restaurants (classy and fast food places). As such while they are approaching the tournament, their cooking instinct kick in because they can sense all the different kitchens. Considering that there are a lot of males, the sudden urge to make all of them a sandwich then clouds their judgement and renders them unable to move since they cannot make a coherent decision between cooking or playing.
All in all like Evo said, this is simply a problem with basic human biology and not necessarily anything to do with a community that collectively puts pussy on a pedestal in the most inane ways.
Edit: I forgot to add that this problem could be easily solved by adding a deli station that the women at tournament could use to prepare stuff. Think of it like a scratching post for a cat. They can go there, knock out a couple of sandwiches and be good for a half hour; long enough to get a couple of their matches done. Then they can quickly go back and make some more sandwiches. It would all be very natural to them AND, most of the players would be eating healthy stuff. Win-win situation.
(Probably something to do with a chunk of women being forced into barbies as opposed to being free to try shit.)

Im pretty sure that was made because certain community kept on creating threads about their game and creating 1-post wonder accounts over and over and over again for an extended period of time in FGD, until they were given a section that isnt very active so everything could be moved in there.

Well, actual psychologists and neuroscientists don’t seem to be sure, and you haven’t actually produced any of this supposedly irrefutable evidence, so I’m more than a little skeptical of this.
More importantly, extrapolating from there to declaring “women are naturally inclined to dislike fighting games” as a fact is failing at science to a degree which is frankly kind of hilarious.
They’re a lost cause. There’s no reason to suffer fools that won’t even address the posts I’ve made that go into why that is at length.
