ST and HDR are the best imo. Then HF, then SF4, then CE, and so on.
I thought all the Alphas and SF3s were garbage after playing them for a while. Even though CCs do have a bit of a learning curve that I personally never got a grasp of (I’m garbage at CCs in general, Alpha or not), theyre just pretty damn ridiculous. Theyre ridiculous in any game for the most part, have they ever been done right? Taokaka in BB probably has the least dangerous one but hers is kinda garbage from what I’ve seen and I almost never see it used. CCs are just one problem with the Alphas, but to me personally something just doesnt feel right about the gameplay in general. Especially Alpha 3, there’s like a lack of “oomph” the other games had, you know? Different games, different feel I guess. SF3 on the other hand seems like it rewards the characters with the best pokes, most ways to punish, and with good speed. Look at 3S, all the low tier characters (aside from Ibuki who sucks for other reasons) are slow as hell while the top tiers are speedy ass motherfuckers with a million ways to punish and can use the parry system to their advantage more. That’s just how I see things in SF3, but that’s just one complaint i have.
SSF2 is worse than all of the other SF games imo. So slow.
Edit: Wow, somebody got really upset that I called 3S garbage even though I never specifically said 3S. That game has such terrible fans, another reason why I hate it.

Hyper Fighting will always be my fav as well.
SF3S my favorite Alpha 2 my 2nd favorite. SF3S had some great soundtracks, and I actually stopped with the Ryu, and went totally Akuma. Thank 3S for telling me Ryu isn’t the only way.

First of all SF4 is not ass and the fact that you mentioned 3s means you have no credibility in what you say period.

the only thing sf3ts lacked from makingit the best fighter ever (its still by far the best sf ever) is a more balanced cast (low tiers like sean are aweful) and the lack of sagat. damn, he needs to be in every sf game.
Every other low-tier besides Sean is tournament viable though. Just look at Kuroda (Q) and Hayao (Hugo) who got 3rd at SBO3/2005.

Alpha 3 had everything right, except for V-ISM. Then comes SF4 in my book. And then SF3 I would say.
