3rd Strike is awesome. Hell, it’s my third favorite game.
The other two being Guilty Gear and Soul Calibur II.
By the way, gotta love parrying part of a double fireball and using Hoyoku-sen to get past the second one.
i love 3S thats why i keep playing the game… there’s no other game i rather play dont care if everybody is playing ssf4ae rev 9.5 or wherever that thing is call and i dont play snk fighting games so when 3S died i just go ahead and start playing TIME KILLERS or maybe WARGODS. :sleep:

Yeah, though generally the room is kinda empty till about 6 pm gmt, at which point it’s got about 30-50 players. Not great, but it’s better then 3soe

I first started with Street Fighter 4 and got hooked. I played the hell out of SS4 until Third Strike re-release came out and my entire opinion of fighting games changed. SS4 is good and I still play it but there is something about third strike that is just special. I choose playing this game over Skyrim,Uncharted 3,2k12,MGS collection,WWE 12. When I get off here, I will think about playing those games but 3rd strike is going win out lol.I always feel like I can win on 3rdstrike no matter what the situation is. In ss4 I never feel like that. I feel like it will take a miracle to comeback sometimes. 3rd gives you all the tools to deal with any situation, you just have to be willing to learn.
I actually enjoy the ass whoopins now because I see where I went wrong and how to fix it. I can tell when I am playing a better player and when I am playing a cheap player. I love the fact I can improve and actually see it. I love the fact the game is just so, so,so deep and you can play it so many different ways. I wish I was into this game back when it released in the late 90s. I see why this game has such a following to this day. I play the game because I wanna get better and if I get a chance at a tournment then ok if not then who cares because the challenge of getting better at this game is so great I cannot walk away from it.
Over this weekend at SCR I met many people who had started this game with OE who mentioned they had wished they started earlier like many of you guys in this thread.
I know its easy for me to say since I’ve experienced most of the good years 3s had, but even after over 6 years of playing 3s, all I can say about my game personally is I’ve realized how much more I need to improve (still have no tournament wins or major accomplishments to my name). Even if you feel like you suck, we’re all in the same boat. Although I play 3s because I love it, it helps me keep going seeing the few new people who are giving the game a try.

There has been this debate going on in various circles of media about whether videogames can be considered art. They contain visual art and musical art so its easy to try to judge their artistic merit on these fronts but as a new medium it’s the game mechanics and overall ability to interact that gives videogames their unique identity as an art form. At the end of the day successful art is about expressing beauty. That beauty makes you feel something and takes you away with it’s magic… even if it’s the black magic of getting your ass kicked for months by more knowledgeable players as you learn.
3s is beauty to my ears, my eyes, my hands and my mind.
Successful art on all fronts. I knew it the first time I stood in front of the cabinet and spent my first quarter.
I’ve put more time into 3s than any other game of any kind by a staggering degree. It’s an old friend and I’m loyal to my friends.
It’s the modern masterpiece from my youth and I love it.
One day my kids will learn to play 3rd Strike, lol!
Something about the new tracks ruined it for me. It’s like 3s was a beautiful painting of a woman, smiling with her teeth and then Capcom USA came in and colored in one of the teeth with a black pen then drew a mustache on her.
