What have you done for the fighting game community?

Banned some bots
Brewed some tea

Thats about it…

I’ve always kinda liked watching from a far (i.e. watching match vids constantly on youtube and having an account here from 2004 but for some reason never posting), but recently i got a camera and am gonna try and post some fresh match vids. I go to the ffa in granada hills constantly, and theres good damn play there. Even though i don’t know much about games besides 3s, im gonna try and get some good marvel and cvs2 matches also. I hope this is helping the community and not wasting my time haha.

I try to get friends to play fighting games with me, i’ve even payed them a little bit to before. That’s all really.

^ You need new friends if you need to pay them to play with you…

He’s currently kicking my ass in KOFXI. Fucking Duck King/Terry/Tizoc. I don’t know how active he is in the hardcore scene these days. I’ll probably be playing him later tonight. I got him into DR and he was good enough to compete with the 804 regulars(not saying much) after a week or three, but then he sold his PS3. Never went to a DR tourney.

  • I uploaded a bunch of DR match vids(and two Arcana Heart) to youtube. But I’m done with that now.
  • I attend local Tekken tourneys if I’m off and can get a ride. I get deuced on the regular.
  • I helped spread love for Monster when it first came out but I’m tired of it now for no particular reason. Type “Rioting Soul” into youtube and you should find some matches.
  • Assuming this thread isn’t just about contributing to the hardcore community, I make stupid shit like this:

    ppl seem to like it.

Yeah, Moose still plays a lot, and likes to play. I went to his place and played him a bunch in CvS2 and ST… he still rapes me in CvS2 free.

I just think he doesn’t have the time/desire to play in tournaments and the hard core scene anymore. He’s still just as good as he used to be, that’s for sure.

He always tells me he has just as much fun (if not more) playing around with his friends then going to tournaments. Granted, he wins 120% of the time against his friends.

I’m pretty sure if there were another tourney in Richmond, he’d definitely come out.

hmm I haven’t done nothing yet, but I plan on going along with Dark Geese’s and Shinji Gohan’s plans and probably promote KOF 2K6/MIRA, since that game is kinda underrated and hasn’t gotten the attention it deserves

To be honest, the only community I do shit for is the Battlecoliseum community. I basically worship SieClayton, CajunStrike, ultimate faust, and Dark Geese as gods, have seen EVERY FUCKING MATCH VIDEO on youtube, and intend to go pro in NGBC…and ONLY fucking NGBC. To be honest, the other games that I play are just filler. Why do you think I play as Chun-Li and Peach?

I don’t think I did anything. :frowning:

I made ArlyJuice.

Wow I’m flattered…

Anyway I can help you out in NGBC let me know… Due to me being busy I havent been able to be on AIM that much but things will start slowing down so I should be able to get on soon.

:china:

Arlieth-Oh yeah BTW good shit in MBAC…your Chaos is fucking nasty…

:looney:

Aladdins Castle in Torrance? That was one of the best spots for fighters in socal…at least from 92 - 96

hosted weekly online tourneys for months

travel to every event i can major and local

given away 8 arcade sticks after rebuilding them to people to get more people into the scene

always trying to teach people to play and get them away from that mall scrub mentality

I turn alot of people into fighting game fanatics in my school and neighborhood.

With Guarana.

I didn’t do shit…

definitely not true

fugee doesn’t play games yet he is well known and respected by many top players

seasons beatings II in ohio (set up by him and ghaleon) was one of the best tournaments i’ve been to

Spent a couple thousand dollars sponsoring tournaments and trying to build a community & general awareness of whats being played outside of my little island. Not to mention printing and advertising costs a little more down here than it would in the US.

Sacrificed my well being a couple times to ensure that tournaments went down without a hitch ( I was really sick for a while) that didnt work out too well afterwards…but I’d do it again if the situation presented itself.

Buying tournament dvds/games and practically handing out copies for free to anyone who asks for em.

I once ate a sandwich this big.
