But Iori has a much more diverse moveset than Ryu does in any game, right? Still, I think it’s a bit sad that SNK doesn’t risk making more radical changes to Iori that’s more than simply changing the DMs.
That game better have new animations since it took so long to make it and they are dropping the years.
Eh, Who am I kidding, they are going to use the same animation.
Iori is basically SNK’s Guile in terms of “no need to really add too much shit because he’s good enough as it is”
Diverse, you say? When was the time Iori got a brand new move that WASN’T a DM in some form? 99? And that same move(surprise, it’s animation was used for a DM too) was pulled out that year. He’s had the same moves ever since 95. He’s played the same since 95. At least Ryu got new shit in Zero/Alpha and the 3 Series.
Thats good to hear, I really want Duck in the game.^^
@the Iori topic
For sure he didn’t changed much, but is it really a bad thing? A lot of fans would complain about a new style (oh way did they made this that way or what the hell no Maiden Masher anymore? etc.) or a complete left out for a game. This is the same thing as many wanted back Chun Li in the SF3 series without a completly new moveset … The question once and for all is:“Do we really want him to change 95%?” I would say no, a few tweaks here and there, 3 new moves or so, a bit better animation and a new outfit would be all I want, because Iori must always feel like Iori! It would be wrong in my opinion to completly take that feeling away …
my few thoughts about that
Best idea ever
i like the whole idea of adding names to the moves when they fight their rival/related somehow.
they should def put duck king (maxima i really dont care)
i dont like the 2003 Chge formation
I wish I knew where Time Stop got his info from.
I bet you do.
**Second Loke on the 04th and 05th (this weekend).
Club Sega
Chateau EX**
Wish they’d test this in the US, but I know my only hope of ever playing this game as if I mod my PS2 or it gets an Xbox port which won’t arrive til 2007.
Okay, things I’m really liking about this new KOF:
-Garou guys are getting in as the years progress. Rock Howard, here I come.
-Kyo sounds really strong this year. BTW, was it true that he has his fireball back and retains Aragami/Dokugami chains?
-Athena’s finally using these “phoenix” powers we keep hearing she has. Go forth and kick ass Miss Asamiya, that’s why I use ya every year. :pleased:
-Kula is in. And on K’s team, no less. Looks like he gave his “sister” Whip the boot this year, which I’m fine with.
-Custom voices for different characters is BADASS. Now if a 2D fighter would only have changing outfits with 2P, I’d be in heaven.
-Sounds like Ash and Duo got nerfed, which is good.
Things that scare me though:
-Combos decide the time overs? Lame.
-Kyo’s LDM is a variant of that ultra-wack Shiki Kamijiri? WHY?? Mu Shiki is his signature move, or at least it should be. He better have it as a standard DM then (the single punch version, obviously).
-No news on Shen, he better get some new moves.
Kyo doesn’t have Mu Shiki specifically because of the Orochi implications. No Orochi to kill = no Mu Shiki. 2k3 was the only non-crossover/Dream Match exception.
Well, I’d rather see Kyo have weaker DMs, if his projectile comes back. Balance issues. I easily see Kyo with top tier potential already, he wasn’t bad in 03.
My complaints so far based on what I’ve heard.
Kula- they should have made her more independent. No Diana or Candy helping her out.
How are they going to make Kasumi interesting?
The judgement-wannabe system concerns me for now.
How do people gain skill stocks- I could see some turtlescrub potential in this game with the new systems.
True about Orochi and Mu Shiki, but you think they could give him some variation of it that doesn’t suck (unlike his qcf x 2 P in 2K3…) because Kyo + command throw = wrong. I mean, Iori’s busting out with fire pillars now, Kyo can have a different version of his Mu Shiki.
If you turtle too much, youll be risking a loss due to the judge system.
Yes.
Nobody knows WHAT decides it. The only thing everybody seems to agree is that the pendulum would tilt towards the more agressive player.
He did.
But frankly, he didnt need it. At all.
Ash getting nerfed sucks, since I liked being a bit scrubby with his fast fireballs. Does he at least get a new special or good or upgrade command moves of any sort?
Kyo getting his fireball back seems pretty needless to me unless they take something else out and make him play differently. Hopefully the next loketest will show some more new or returning characters and improvements.
I miss Joe.
From Iggy:
All characters are usable. Whip has a new super where she moves forward while whipping, laughably bad.
Maximas D is new, looks like Daimons. His jump D is also new, drop kick.
Duolon has a new super with his legs coming out of the ground (XNDL?). Hes super weak and stiff.
Kensu has that move he had in 99. His leader super is new, he puts the hand to the ground and sends energy in it, power wave. New pose, new clothes.
Momoko is supremely kimoi. Her move list is in hiragana, phoenix arrow, become a star, esper Interesting how they managed to disgust even the perverts from the very move list. Ichiban Momoko ikimasu, hip attackx3 like Ioris move She makes weird pikopiko sounds when she walks. Her throw swallows from very far away. Oh, and shes supposed to use capoera? Someone says Richard Mayer Midnight Bliss would look like this.
Ramon is the same. His leader is his MAX2 (new name?).
Janet is the same as in MOTW.
Duck King looks like the 00 striker. The Break Spiral command has NOT been simplified : 4123698 kick. At least thats good
Iori copipe copipe. His new moves makes him use just the finish animation of the Saika.
Eijis leader super is an air move. Nothing much new here. Its not his 95 sprite, hes been arranged to post 96 proportions (his intro against a kyokugen team member comes from Billy/Ioris intro in 98 (copicopicopipe). His moves have a lot of priority, no lag Duolon->Eiji.
Alps no shjo Adelheid has a new Kaiser Wave. His protection and power are multiplied, hes ber strong (hes the middle boss).
The last boss is ???. HAHAHAHAHA. Shes quite weak compared to Heidi.
LOL, SNK is becoming more like Capcom wth sprite laziness.
Oh boy…
Edit:
Yup, I’ll be doing that in tag combos only…=/
Hahahahahahahaha
Well, if you consider that Saika USED to be a standalone super, this isn’t horribly surprising…
Once again not surprising, since Eiji was stupid strong in 95 as well.
Haha@Alps no shoujo
And he’s such a fitting midboss. But I wonder if he’ll be stuck as midboss/booby prize boss for this arc? Like Father Like Son?
oh noes doesn’t sound good grafix wise ah but I’ve been playing kof so long I’m imune to dodgy sprites by now still love 2k2 even though it might be one of the most ugly fighters ever
Maybe if someone go into the past and delete all the new sprites they made, and leave just one new sprite, like the chick from Capcom Fighting Jam…
And people ask why i dont post info here anymore? This kind of BS is why. Ill just say the castle background and Elisabeth look great judging from the pics, and theres talk of another boss after the chinese boxer chick.
