Hopefully they’ll change the Break Spiral to its RB2 motion. Complicated motions aren’t good in KOF games. Unnecessarily complicated motions are stupid.

I’m eh on Maxima’s new normals. jumping D shouldn’t have changed at all, Standing D I’m indifferent to, even if Maxima’s old stand D wasn’t too useful.

A lot of the other changes were predictable, I thought Whip would gain a Crazy Buffalo Balrog-style DM.

yeah, he was strong in kof2k3, a bit too strong, but I hope he goes down the same road as WW Guile to CE Guile, GGX to GGXX millia or MSHvsSF wolverine to MvC1 wolverine. weakened but still better than most of the cast.

Instead of just slightly fixing characters, how about we fix the reason why they were too good? That IS what SNKP did. They removed his infinite, and they gave him RECOVERY TIME. Imagine that. If Duo had recovery time in 2k3, he would be half as annoying…

They’re doing it with most of the 03 cast(Ash, Malin) who had almost no lag on thier moves.

For Malin it was more of a Startup delay type thing, as her stuff had like, no startup frames.

As for Ash… Well, his fireball priority was pretty fucked up anyway.

Well I read somewhere that both of thier projectiles come out much slower this time around…

Yeah, I’m an idiot because I’m complaining about a system that, even on paper, has tons of potential for abuse, as well as completely invalidates certain playstyles based on collected information.

We have a precedent with 3rd Strike. Noone likes it when their games are decided by something other than a clear, objective measure of how you were doing. If your opponent has less life at the end of the match, it’s clear you’re doing something better than them. Ever since fighting games started and this method of determining the winner has been used, it has been proven time and time again to be the most fair and most appropriate way of measuring victory.

This is not a fight in a ring like UFC where it makes sense that you’ll need judging to see who was the winner. Hell, even then, sometimes people don’t agree with what the judges say.

How can you possibly, remotely, vaguely even BOTHER to argue that a COMPLETELY ARBITRARY way of determining the winner of a fight that is NOT 100% in the hands of the players is in ANY WAY a viable replacement for the life-left system that already exists? Can you even begin to understand how fucking idiotic that argument is?

This system is just simply NOT going to be better than what we already have. The one already in existance (measure by life left) is fair enough and works. Why did SNK have to ‘fix’ something that wasn’t broken in the first place?

You also talk like winning tournaments is all that matters. I HAVE won tournaments (albeit smaller ones) in Mexico, before, and I am by no means a bad player. I am solid at KOF, I know my stuff. I know what I’m talking about, I know how to play, and I do play. You’re trying to defend SNK from criticism over a system that did not need changing. They’re addressing a problem by ‘fixing’ the wrong thing. I don’t even understand how you can possibly argue against that, and yet you just tell me to play the game. I am willing to bet money that I will play the game, the time out will come, and it will show the system is retarded. The only way I see this system to not be broken is if the thing just tilts to show you who actually has the most life, which would actually be pretty cool because that way people actually know who is losing in situations where the pixels are hard to tell apart.

And I don’t particularly care about any roster changes. I am waiting to see how the game plays. This is an obvious, glaring gameplay PROBLEM. Before you bother refuting that it isn’t by saying I’m stupid and a retard and OMG PLAY THE GAME LAWL, please explain in which ways this system will make the game better and why. If you can bother coming up with such reasons, then I’ll very gladly repeat myself and tell you why it will make the game worse.

If you don’t see the problem with these, then you need to stop playing fighting games.

One could argue that aggressive actions are under a player’s control.

However, aggressive actions does need to be defined intelligently. Perhaps “skillful” play should be based on play-style? For example, someone who’s DPing successfully a lot is playing very skillfully.

Yes, but how the game explicitly defines ‘aggressive’ is technically unknown. The huge part is that it technically invalidates a turtling playstyle, which is a completely acceptable playstyle that DOES involve skill to accomplish.

Anyway, I’m guessing with that time feature that if someone hits you, the scale will tip a bit…but if you just turtle it’ll slowly go to the other players favour…I hope anyway. :stuck_out_tongue: Otherwise people could find some cheeky tactics that will put the time on their side. lol
