I think one of the worse parts is that with no background knowledge on who DC is, this is just as likely to be a case of him being dumb and curious rather than trying to offend.
I see it all the time, someone who’s a bit awquard, meaning no harm at all asking a question which just makes you think “For fucks sake just shut up and drop it now”, difference is that every time that’s happened around me the other guy has been mature enough to wave it off and let it go knowing that the said person didn’t actually mean any harm.

Crying Brian was a terrible look, but it blew up pretty fast. LTG vs Viscant was handled in the way most things should be handled in the community: play it out. What is it about how LTG/Viscant situation you wanted handled differently?
Noel Brown thing blew over too. Even if they tried saying something, odds are that somebody told them not to address it. Considering the front page is not there to really service FGC people, what do you want them to write that would make scrubs feel better about what happened?
There’s a lot of things gravely mishandled (including reposting that twitlong thing in the front page) but you have to properly address why its fucked not just get mad that this is the on that gets attention. Chill your shit, get a little bit more coherent and aim your anger better.
The way it was handled was fine as it was. However, the problem is the differences in reactions of iantothemax. Both instances had slanderous remarks. Only one deserves a callout to the community to behave better. Why?

Neither of them deserve call outs. It was mentioned before that this was between the DC dude and the M’ellis and it really should’ve stayed that way. TOs can’t be asked to handle personal disputes between people unless what they are doing is disrupting the tournament. Unless it involves violence, cheating or something ridiculous, being mad at somebody isn’t news worthy.
That’s the main problem with this situation. Somebody flipped out and cried about a problem she had with one person and now wants TO to play bodyguard. They are busy as fuck, no way they can’t. You wanna write an article trying to explain to the FGC why asking a trans person if they have a dick is a rude thing to do? Productive. Asking for protection from ignorant people asking rude questions? dumb shit.
Neither of them do shit for SRK so there’s no point in messaging them. On the other hand, hitting up the Cannons on twitter would be a lot more productive.

Damn, man. If I decided to be transgendered and approached someone who knew me before—the first question I expect to be asked is something along the lines of whether or not I still have my junk. No doubt, being transgendered is weird. It’s not wrong, or bad, or immoral, or inferior, or whatever, but it’s weird. It’s weird in the same way that being a black NASCAR driver is weird.
I don’t even really understand why asking that question is rude if you knew the dude. True, usually one does not ask about another person’s genitals. At the same time, no one would ever go up to a random woman and ask “Would you lift your shirt up so I can place my hand on your belly?” …unless she’s pregnant. There are different acceptables for different situations.
Gender is hugely associated with sex, so wondering about a person’s sex when their gender is weird is completely natural. To get all fucked up about it just creates a wider divide between your group and those who are outside of it.

If someone made a mistake, you need to give him leeway to understand that he did a mistake and own up to it, but if you put him on the defense it will get you nowhere.

SRK is a hype website dedicated to promoting the genre and the community. The goal is to make the tournaments, and EVO in particular, bigger. Every new game will get some promotion on the front page. If you go against Naruto and Smash you might as well go against everything that’s not SF4 and UMVC3 “cuz srk is a capcom game website!!11”. But we don’t want that right? So we’ll have to be a bit more tolerant when games we personally don’t care about like Smash get some attention.

Can you show me examples of those starving content creators? The only ones who are actively boycotted on the front page are ones who openly shit on SRK and EVO. Like VxG.
I’ll even put my money where my mouth is: Show me people who create amazing videos that are purposely ignored by SRK without a good reason and I’ll host them on my channel for exposure. From my impression the average SRK referral nets between 2000-5000 views depending on the content of the video, and my channel can bring you at the bare minimum half of that, which is also something.
