SC2 is old, but not boring. WHo asked about SC2, SC3 is where it’s at and has a LOT of people wanting it at Evo. It’s deep enough and fun enough for a lot of people to play

Haha! What about the quality of the game? Alpha 2 is a far 2nd to Alpha 3 and America and Japan’s best Alpha players agree there.
An all Alpha tournament might be fun. One match on 1,2 and 3 and the winner of 2 of the 3 advances:) Then the champion would be THE Alpha champ:)
If there is only one alpha it would have to be alpha 3. It’s the most solid and advanced version and not very scrub friendly.

MVC2-Because it will always be fun and draw a croud for the absolute nonsense that goes on in it.
SF3rd Strike-It’s resurging popularity and demand of technical ability make it fun to watch and play.ummmmm Daigo vs. J.Wong as an example of why it will be played for a while.
CVS 2-I personally play a lot of CVS and love the game because there are not one set of dominant characters or one superior groove.Always fun to play.
ST-Keepin it real since the beginning.
GGXX- Hopefully Slash will be out so new greatness can be witnessed. this is by far(at least to me)the most exciting game out because of it’s of a sort of limitless custom combo gameplay.Whatever you can come up with, provided the opponent has no Burst:wgrin:
SCIII-I just recently played this and think it is visually great and takes a lot of prediction skill. Would like to see more of it.
Tekken5-Gotta have a tekken in there.
Alpha 3-If it gets enough votes.Great game, unfortunately it’s time may almost be up.
EX3-I’m a personal fan of the series and would like to see it there to see if it can gain some popularity.I’m sure there are people who play it and it would be perfect for team events.
SSBM-I have only played it a little and a long time ago at that, but it does take skill to play and for the sake of Competition, should be there.

Maybe a game of choice from the SRK guys that doesn’t make the vote.As a good surprise for some and a chance to get a less popular game on the scene.
Im also in the idea of the team tourney being the main event. adds a lot more balance and more strategy to the tournament plus It’ll allow for more american players(or teams in this case) to get into the top 8 so no more 6 japanese players then random 2 US players in the top 8(talking gg here).
Games:
Mvc2: without question still the most exciting tournament as last years results have proven. anyone can come up and be a hero.
3s: Still popular and people will still play it until the next Sf game(if ever) comes out.
HSF: There’s too many questions about ST. this game would be the best bet to replace it.
T5DR: only if it’s out on console by then. if not then 5.0 MAY be a viable option. if not then replace it with…
Doa4: Seems decent but how many people actually have 360’s? and would those players be willing to come out and participate(at least 150)?
Guilty Gear Slash: This game MUST be in no questions. It’ll would be plain out stupid and bad for business to replace Slash with reload. Funny how those opposed to having slash and accessibilty can say the same things about ST. I mean did ST ever recieve a US release on Dreamcast(a long dead system)? St for ps2…HOW LONG AGO did that come out…like almost 10 years ago?good luck finding that at your local gamestop(not dissing St or it’s players but in reality it IS in the same boat as gg) St tournaments have survived for years with limited accesibility. If all else fails just “borrow” jap ps2’s again.

sc3: supposedly there’s a new version of this game coming to fix the things that people complained about that was in the original and with Evo coming after nationals it might be here by then. But honestly I don’t know enough about Sc or the scene to comment much about it.
since this will be my first Evo (woohoo!) I’d love to see and compete in:
CvS2 - cuz i dont care what anyone says … i can’t stop playin it
T5 - my favorite 3D fighter out there right now probably closely followed by
SC3 - because its the only REAL weapon based 3D fighter out there with a great combat system and deep characters strategy-wise (but you all knew that or else SC2 woulda never been at evo '03 and '04)
Third Strike - so i can show KSK how to really play Alex!! (jokin … kinda)
GGXX - great game all around … too bad local arcade gave it the boot =( … the latest incarnation only please (Slash)
CFE/CFJ - before i get flamed on how useless this game is lemme say this … i forsee alot of play comin out of this game when it is better understood … maybe im wrong but not only is this game well-balanced and very strategic in its gameplay (counter characters, meter building and consumption, etc.) but i think its fun as hell … ok let the hurt begin
rumble fish 2 - i dont kno diddly squat about this game but it looks fantastic so i’d jus like to see pros go at it =P
Vampire Savior - i kno it’s a longshot but i still think its balanced enough to see some tournament play
so that’s my wishlist for my first evo … lookin forward to goin and playin anybody who’ll let me near em =)

Games at Evo2k6
Personally for me, since competing in my first ever Evolution tournament, I would like to see some of the games that didn’t make it to last years evo.
Dead or Alive 3 or 4: These games kick ass and are fun to play because competition gets more serious in this game. There is no room for mistakes in it.
Soul Calibur 2 or 3: Both soul caliburs are classic fighting games that are fun to use in tournaments, so I would insist this game also.
Street Fighter 3rd Strike: Personally this is one of my favorite Street Fighter games because the battle is even determined by what you do and don’t do. The competition was fierce in this game last year and i’m pretty sure everyone else would want to see it as well too.
Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution: I was pissed that this didn’t make it to the tournament last year because its a great fighter and evenly balanced for everyone. So i would like to see this game as well.
Lastly, just make this the best evo ever because i’m definitely coming back to fight in this tournament again.

well only game i play is mvc2 to me is the best fighiting ever…
cvs2 is also a great game, hot combos and all about skill…
evo rocks the world with this tournament. so this 2 games above…
are a most in my opinion…

DVD for 2k6 not taking 9 months to come out.
I was thinking something out of the box.
Armored Core (all/any versions) anyone? It is classified as a fighting game, the only difference is that you can’t play it in the arcades, but then no one could complain that it is not arcade perfect.
CvS2 and 3S are in my top priority.
TTT, T5, GGXX#R, MvC2, and ST are secondary.
I don’t if if this game has been posted but this thread is too long to read but i think super mario strikes, i think i would see some sick games between pros in that game and the game is fun as hell :tup:
Heh, if you guys have N64, Super Mario Bro sounds nice as well.
IMO, better than Melee.
Armored core would be great, give me reason to pick the games up again. But I doubt it will ever happen
