What games would you like to see considered for Evo2k6?

Lack of skill, ha ha your funny guy. Say that to someone real good at smash, then play them and get your ass handed to you. Although I don’t care for the game much myself, your statement is far from the truth and the game has a solid amount of depth for it’s style of gameplay.

Triple post?

Anyway, no one in charge or anyone that has a say in Evo will read the thread up to this point probably.

Um… the game is not only GEARED toward children based on the appearance, the characters and the fact that the gameplay requires little technical ability, but no matter how long you watch it, you cannot possibly learn anything. If it has depth explain that depth, I’m listening.

I agree that it should be at evo because of its ridiculous popularity but do NOT believe it is a good name.

This article written awhile back is probably the best at explaining the depth of Smash.

You just have to look at the game at an objective standpoint.

I don`t like games that let you throw out of blockstun.

Definitely some SFEX3 if it can be managed. There is some greatness in that game.

Hot damn, someone suggested it besides me. So thats what EX3 2 suggestions, SSBM 46 suggestions, and T5 342 suggestions. lol

XvsSf = Best Evo Ever!!!

Someone has never played the game before. :looney:

Considerations in addition to the usual 3S, ST, CVS2, MVC2, T5 lineup…

Showing some SNK love:

NeoGeo Battle Colosseum
Samurai Shodown V
KOFXI (This looks really great so far)

Capcom’s newest entrant:

Capcom Fighting Evolution
(I don’t have the game, but i’m curious to see how this plays out)

Others:

Rumble Fish 2 (looks interesting…and will add diversity to lineup)
GGXX #Reload
DOA4
SC3 (My current favorite 3d fighter)
Smash Bros Melee (Large fan base…wouldn’t hurt to give a try, i suppose)

Try playing stuff before you make yourself look stupid over the internet.

He asked for and said he was all ears to an explanation as to how the game was deep, so instead of one liners you should probably explain things.

I say have DOA4 at Evo. After reading the article about it in Hardcore Gamer a few weeks ago, I think it would be…well, not a piece of crap, and be good for the tournament. Also…SRK is now a blog, apparently…? Anway, ink mentioned DOA4 on the main page, and he seems to concur.

I. The obvious choices:
MVC2
SF3:TS
CVS2

II. Obvious choices, but which version is a question:
GGXX - assuming Slash is out, use it. If not, #R.
Tekken 5 - if DR gets a console release in time, use it.

III. My wish list:

  • Samurai Spirits Tenkaichi - fantastic PS2 port, doesn’t seem broken. I’d love to see the Japanese players on this game. It’s essentially the ultimate SS game, and although it’s early seems to be tournament-worthy. I’ll bet it can draw at least as well as KOF, if not better.
  • CFE - just to see some new blood. There’s only so many times we can watch these same CVS2/TS/MVC2 matchups and not get bored. Besides, it is Capcom.
  • A KOF game - I’d like to see Neowave if XI isn’t available

IV. Maybe:
SSF2T - classic, depends on demand. But does ST ever really get old?
DOA4 - I guess we need another 3D game for the 3D fans besides Tekken
NGBC - I’d be interested to see competition. Doesn’t seem broken in the PS2 port, though the load time is irritating and might make the tourney last longer than it really should

V. Shouldn’t be there:
Virtua Fighter - 4 is too old and was never a popular Evo game to begin with, 5 likely won’t be available
Soul Calibur - I’m no SC expert, but surely the console SC3 is broken in some way. SC2 is old and boring.
SSBM - play it in friendly matches, but for the love of God keep it out of tourney play

2006 Lineup

  1. Mvc2
  2. 3s
  3. Cvs2
  4. T5
  5. GuiltyGear slash or #R
  6. NGBC
  7. XvsSF
  8. Any other Snk Game.

So have any of this ideas been taken into consideration? specially KOF.

If they use the same system as last time (the 100 vote min requirement) then KOF has no chance, as 2005’s voting proved.

Shame really.

No Halo, please. Although funny as shit, its pretty fucked up to hear everyone boo the MLG announcement for Halo 2 championships.

Seeing as how Alpha Collection is having arcade perfect conversions (time will tell), my vote goes to Alpha 3. True, most people have moved on from it, but I’m sure that the OGs will have their skills back in two weeks of practice, and the new schoolers will find that the game is GOOD.

I think it’ll be sorta like what happened to 3S, but on a smaller scale…

Hungry Hungry Hippos - very, VERY balanced.
