there is quite alot of definitions going around for “technical” it can mean-
list of tactics or moves a game has, which results in lists after list of what a game can offer.
the ease of inputting said moves and tactics, whither it is double 360’s, or just mashing P+K.
or it can mean the actual skills to face another player and win, using mind games(yomi), stratigies such as spacing and whiff punishing, and adapting to your opponent.
to me, the most important factor in a game’s technicality- is that a word?- is the last aspect, the player skill in winning vs the other player’s skill. Because at assumed high level play, it is understood that both players can execute their moves with perfection, and can utilize every aspect of the game engine.
strategies win games, not mechanics.
