I wonder how does it get competitive, does it limit the classes to sniper vs. scout or something?
6v6 composed mostly of 2 scouts, 2 soldiers, 1 demo and medic. A player will sometimes switch to another class when their team pushes/gets pushed to a part of the map so that skill set is most advantageous. 1 Soldier has a pocket medic at all times so ideally other teammates would follow them to get healed. Scouts are there to be annoying and look to “chip” the opponents for some kills.
The original ghost recon with team random respawn on castle day all day.
In my opinion.
PC: Team Fortress 2.
Consoles: Halo 3/Reach.
Team Fortress 2 on pc, it’s the one I’m the most familiar with, the one I love to watch competitive matchs of it and because it’s fun.
Console eeh I don’t have any fps on them. Got Uncharted 2 and 3 but since they’re tps…
6v6 is the standard. One Medic, one Demoman, two Soldiers, two Scouts. Swap in a Sniper for a Scout when you need to get rid of someone badly (your Sniper had better have godlike aiming and reflexes or else he’s not doing his job), maybe a Heavy or Pyro for last point defense, maybe a Spy to eliminate someone quickly (you’ll have to switch after, though, because small teams + good communication = no Spy). I prefer Highlander, which is one of every class, because I like more variety between classes. Some 6v6 people don’t like Highlander because it’s “too spammy” or something.
Items have to be screened and determined upon being allowed by the community. I don’t really have a problem with restrictions, but a lot of focus is around the items, which I feel detracts from it a little bit. Plus, GRU is banned for giving Heavy too much mobility I think, when the reason it was created in the first place was to give Heavy mobility and a way to build a Medic’s Ubercharge faster (self-damage).
I haven’t burned out on it, and don’t see myself burning out any time soon. In spite of what I said earlier, I think I’d rather play TF2 competitively over TFC because TFC boils down to conc jumping everywhere for the most part (and as Medic, too! Who’d have thought).
Well, fuck your opinion
I like how, when bringing up console FPS no one bothers to mention Socom. But I understand, seeing how it’s a man’s game and all I see here are little girls waiting to get picked up by their grandmother from soccer practice because their mom is extremely depress and is in debt after the davorse and the step father is a jerk and makes you insecure of your appearance because of your gender.
In other words: you guys are pussies!
Meow.
Firstly the Socom games aren’t First Person Shooters, they are tactical third person shooters with some iron sighted weapons that can be fired in first person, since the game’s we are discussing have to be FPS titles all games from the series illegible for the list.
Secondly I know you’re trolling with the insulting statements I just felt I needed to point out the inaccuracies in your statement.
Thirdly woof.
1st person, 3rd person.
Tomato, To-ma-toe.
Cheese bread, chocolate sundae.
Metallica, Avril Lavigne
It’s all the same thing.
You do ALOT of obvious trolling in ALOT of threads.
I don’t see any post about SOCOM…which isn’t even a PC game anyway let alone an FPS.
Whoever posted that fails at reading, and is probably this guy right here.

How does console even come to discussion? What the shell?
I see, so most people don’t start with engineers for defense?
They usually can’t get their bases up in time. Wrangler and Gunslinger are banned. Competitive doesn’t usually play A/D maps either.
So what maps do they play? CTF?
Things may have changed now, I haven’t played competitively for a few years, but it was mostly 5CP (or push-maps, whatever you want to call them). Badlands and Granary and the likes.
From time to time they will play A/D and CTF, but it is normally limited to Turbine and Gravel Pit when it comes to 6v6. Highlander (which is 9v9, one of each class) and other variations are a completely different story, but they aren’t nearly as popular as 6v6 play.
That is how Europe is anyway. I’m unsure about the competitive scene in the US.
Unreal Tournament, hoffa at the gods god.
Mach4 Dustbowl Well
SMFH @ the Team Fortress 2 posts.
IMO best competitive FPS games on the PC are Quake 3, Team Fortress Classic and Unreal Tournament 1. In addition, since they are played with mouse & keyboard they are automatically better than all console FPS games combined.
