soo i’ve been running best friends and i feel like i’m not quite understanding the “calling of akuma assist” with wolverines berserker slash when a character is about to come on screen. the 50/50 is supposed to be to either block wolverines berserker slash from behind or blocking the akuma assist coming at you, right?
i’ve noticed that i let the akuma assist hit and then do my berserker slash and notice that i get neither to hit. reason why i ask is cause i’m thinking that i’m doing this 50/50 situation wrong and if i fix my mistakes, my wolvie/akuma combo will be MUCH better.
the 50/50 has nothing to do with the assist it has to do with blocking the slash. If you guess wrong the slash hits and the assist picks him up so you can continue the combo, it also makes the slash safe on block. If that helps you Jill.
also guys how does justin do that 50/50 drill claw in the corner. IT’s hard to see how he’s doing it exactly. Is it different strenghts? I Know he can choose if it will cross or not. So i’m just wondering how it’s done.
from looking at his matches when the character is coming in he dashes under and drill claws down forward to create the crossup and neutral drill claw for a noncross up
against spiderman i find doing c.M works really well against his air attacks you just have to time it well. so do something like c.M into S works great if you space it right and you can launch him right into a combo.
Someone mentioned the higher the dive kick, the more punishable you are on block, true?
I find myself too far to df+M after a mid screen forward ground throw even with ONE dash. Do you guys Dash, cancel, then Dash again instead of just dashing once?
Does combining assist and attacks work? i.e. after 2 blocked c.L, j.L+A2 . Or say after a throw, L+M+A2 to dash and call assist at once.
After a corner combo ended, opponent rolls out of the corner. Is he completely vulnerable to my c.L if I back dash after him and spam that?
Thanks in advance. edit 5. I use wolve/sent/akuma, what are the available DHC glitch setups?
During Evo, Wong was doing some kinda straight up drill claw on an incoming character for mix up. It was cool to watch and probably a standard wolverine mix up on incoming characters. Can someone explain what he is doing? Looks really good! I hope that’s enough info to go on
I noticed that he was using it more against characters he snapped in because it’s easier to control which side they come in from. I’d have to test it, but I think that a character always comes in from the side the other character was snapped to. That way, he can be waiting in the corner and do his drill claw mixup. I think upward drill claw works really well here. Honestly, I don’t even know which way to block it.
Hey Haiku,
Who would you say is his best team in ultimate and why. My best guess is that it’s still akuma and ? What wolvie team are you using and why?
Akuma is till one of his best Assist partners, another is Frank West Shopping cart ( Ive seen others use it but I havent Tested it myself, Ill test it soon ), Sentinel with Drones is still amazing, Pheonix Wright Press the witness ( in his golden mode ) helps a great deal.
A basic Team build is usually Wolvie on point, Assist Second, then a Decent anchor third, the only accepted team to this is a phoenix wright based team were as here youd want Mr wright first to get evidence.
Right now Im trying Wolvie/Akuma/Strider ( Vajra ) basically an all around good team, Wolvie is my lead because he opens up people pretty quickly, giving you a large edge on your opponent, Vajra assist for people who zone/run away because it tracks them and helps me safely close it better. I used Sentinel before akuma because with sentinel assist you get a good 2-3 mix ups with drones out ( now its more 2 because of how fast the drones are )
You want an assist that will pickup/continue your hit/combo from a mix up. Basically you Call assist go for mix up, if you hit go into combo if they block try another mix up and go for a hit, and if they block both youve probably been push blocked away so you need a good ground game/footsies. Wolvie takes much more skill to use now, he still has the mix ups but he has much tighter timing on a lot of things and you have to deal with a larger zoning game and much more meter management.
I suggest for anyone trying to use Wolvie to go Wolvie on point, Assist second ( I recommend Sentinel/akuma/frank west for those starting ) and an Anchor of your choice as the final ( I suggest something to deal with zoning or a zoner or something unless you can deal with it well, but Strider, wesker, magneto,or someone easier to use in a clutch situation ).
sorry if this is a little scattered its just small basics to get you started
