God forbid people should have opinions and want to gasp share them!
I hate the fact that my game is not the same version as other platforms. I have to wait months for capcom to make a patch (that’s assuming they do) while everyone plays on the newest version. PC players are treated like crap
it sort of did. sure the die hard fans were still there. each game still had its fanbase supporting so “resuscitated” is the wrong choice of word. but SF4 brought fighters back into the mainstream, even achieving stream numbers of over 80k at EVO finals. now(not before) when you mention top game genre’s like RPGs, FPS etc… you would have to mention FGs, even if you know nothing about them because the impact of SF4 was undenieable. All these casual gamers buying Madcatz sticks at over 100$ for their choice of fighter, SCV, Blazblue etc dont even realize if it wasnt for SF4 those sticks wont exist. if not for SF4, MCZ won’t even be sponsoring players. Gamers in the FGC might not even be getting sponsored period. SF4 did not resuscitate the FGS, it ressurected it back to its old glory
back to thread. i hate braindead vortex nonsense. i hate Viper, Seth and Ibuki. i get mad when i feel i lose to constant easy 50/50 block situations from my opponent. im not being outplayed, i just get put into this vortex and the game is over. i want to be outplayed, not out random’d because i blocked the wrong way. A tactic which is very abusable in SF4 for those characters. With that said i actually like ibuki, she plays well without the vortex, so does abel, but viper and seth ughhh. i also hate the easy inputs that allow mashing that can lead to FADC > ultra. no skill required at all. Every game has flaws. i do enjoy SF4 very much. i play it most with KoFXIII atm and i get equal fun out of both games.
It did, you are retarded if you think otherwise.
Oh, and please don’t give me some BS list pointing out all the fighters released between 3s and sf4. Almost no one outside of the community played them, so it’s a moot point.
Id have to say 4 def revived the scene all around. It brought me back, thats for sure, and I was a huge FG fan from SF2 up to and including 3s.
Other than little stints here and there with GGX, Virtua Fighter, and a sweet online game called Custom Robo Arena(on nintendo DS) it was pretty dead btwn 3s and 4.
I was playing Smash before SF4 came out.
So yeah…
I forgot I was too actually! Havent touched it since 4.
Things I hate about AE2012 and the SFIV series in general:
Spoiler
Quick Stand
Low blockstun
Large reversal window
Auto-correct
Overly lenient inputs
Low damage pokes
Dumb hitboxes
Too many fully invincible EX moves
EX moves that avoid fireballs and can hit from full-screen
EX fireballs that still knock down after beating normal fireballs (Only the first hit should knock down IMO)
DPs that hit-trade
Ultras doing more damage than supers
Ultras being invincible
Ultras that counter fireballs
Too many characters
As for my character, I’m upset that Seth’s ultras and stomps didn’t get reverted to their super incarnations. The hitstun/blockstun nerfs to divekick and the second hit of a blocked non-EX SRK are pretty lame also. The damage buff to Hyakuretsukyaku and and the buffs to HP and stun are cool, but I would have preferred SRK being buffed to Hyaku and I would have preferred getting the Vanilla forward teleports and Divekick back to HP and stun buffs. Also, I’m still salty about jump fierce being removed.
i hate how i can never find broken shit and abuse it because another balance patch takes it away
also seth was actually pretty awesome until they decided to nerf all damage output into the ground (he got away with damage buffs??? i guess capcom didn’t like seth players trying to think and preferred they just get the fuck in there and press buttons)
Are you serious bro? SF4 is more or less the main reason why fighting games are so popular these days. You didn’t hear of many fighting games between 3S and SF4 because, well, not many people cared about them or never heard of them. It was all about FPS and RPGs.
I hate the fact that Chun Li is really weak in this version. She never deserved nerfs, a bunch of scrubs saw her on the top of the tier list (many versions, only one had her at the top) and then assumed she must be broken. Capcom shouldnt just listen to anyone.
I hate the fact that they made her stomp more lenient while messing with the hitbox. As if she needs to work MORE for damage.
IIRC, they made her ex sbk worse. Unless that was in the first AE update. Either way, its bullshit.
Yang was not broken, he was nerfed majorly for being associated with Yun.
Most of my complaints come from nerfing characters that didnt need it.
Yea, I think that this was covered sufficiently.
Stop fishing for likes scrub.
This should read: “You didn’t hear of many Capcom fighting games between 3S and SF4”. There were still fighting games out there being released, just not by Capcom.
One major gripe I have is with the number of shotos in the game. E. Ryu and Oni were another leniency for the newcomers to attempt their troll online. Capcom could have substituted both for…well…anyone really. More 3s characters would’ve been dope and maybe spark interest in buying the PSN/XBLA version, though I’m not sure how sales for it went down in the first place.
Also Rose definitely could’ve kept Super U2 properties considering it’s not very damaging at all. I’m sure Vega’s Splendid Claw ultra did more damage by a good margin. 240 dmg with a possibility of a bit more for an ultra with no frames of invincibility makes her terrible when in Super she could at least keep up a bit better.
I could go on and on about what I hate about this game.
Please continue, I’m certain It would be most enlightening.
Says one whose apparently knowledge base stems from reddit. Get a life, herb.
Blech, most of the games that came out were flat niche. Also many of them weren’t very good [MI I’m looking at you] and did more to add to the demise of the scene than otherwise. That’s besides the point tho, it wasn’t SF4 specifically that revitalized the genre it was the boom in online play IMO starting with things like kaillera which allowed scenes to bloom even if people weren’t next to each other.
On topic: This game is awesome.
King of Fighters and Guilty Gear say “hello”.
