If seth is so imba, why don’t you all main him yourself? Seth can be dangerious and annoying when mastered, but also easily destroyed on mistakes. I cannot see a single point in hating him. He is different to other characters, yes, but this makes him cool and not “against what sf is about”. Same to elf, you have to fight him completely different - but whats wrong with that? I don’t get it. If anything is against what SF is about, than blanka’s electricity which counters 95% of all attacks.
And for Ultras: Ultras are the best addititon. Without ultras bad players could not get lucky wins. Therefore without ultras we would have much less players cause they get frustrated. And ultras switch your game from “rushdown” to “okay, now I have to pay attention”. What’s wrong with that?
I love this game more than any other fighting game I know.
Ugh, I actually threw up in my mouth a little after reading this.
Just be truthful with it, here let me help you.
Replace the words ‘bad players’ with ‘I’ and replace ‘we would have much less players’ with ‘you all wouldn’t have me’. There. No need to try to be slick with it.
Have you ever considered a job at Capcom marketing? You’d be perfect.
If it’s sarcasm, he’s really the king of all sarcasm in the world because he’s easily getting everyone with it.
If it’s stupidity, he’s really the king of all stupidity in the world because…well, you just read what he said, so you know.
Slow walk speeds, boring block strings (jab is only thing that’s tight), loose wake up games (safe jump OS or else), still boring, hate the art style too.
It is fun though to see Seth go from worst character in Japan to best character in Japan. Remember all the Seth players on the forums whining about his nerfs and me going “well…I dunno I still see stuff here”.
Then he turned into the Silver Surfer of this game once people actually spent time with him. Good shit.
A lot of the lower tier characters in AE haven’t been buffed enough for v.2012, or have been buffed in areas that don’t really help them.
Characters like Gouken, Dudley, Dan, and Rose needed buffs like these badly.
Yeah the characters need tools that actually help them. It’s like Capcom is too afraid to not have the characters totally situated to a certain dimension. It’s not like other fighters where there are more subsystems to help them overcome stuff or the game is just high damage enough for the player to breakthrough the matchup.
I’m probably alone on this, but I don’t like how large the roster is.
I wish SFV will have 16 characters in it, so people with less time can learn all match ups. I know this wont ever happen, but with so many updates/rebalances and so many characters you really have to put a lot, a lot of time in the lab to be able to take down some offline competition.
I don’t mind a large roster as long as most of them are competitive and actually different from each other. I think KoF XIII strikes a good balance in this (big roster but they’re all pretty good and pretty different).
I think KOF XIII may be the best fighter this generation. It plays like the old school stuff I love so much. I’m going to be playing THAT game more, along with Capcom vs SNK2, SFA3, SF3S, etc. SF4 is a fun game and cool, but yea it’s a bit too casual friendly sometimes.
You are funny, guys, serious. You should stop complaining or playing this game on the internet. If you want competition -> go to lan tournaments. But stop insulting people who are playing just for fun. That is what a game is created for. Playing for real competition is like… no real life. I’ve played counter-strike since beta 5.2, even for competition, but if I wanted to play a game without lucky headshots (instant kills), I would have played quake3.
Nothing wrong with pointing out a legitimate problem in a game as long as it is done intelligently. However I feel that this is a problem in most modern games. Since the casual base is much larger than it was 10 years ago, the developers hold the hand of gamers to keep newer players coming in to make more money. The problem is that it puts a cap on the skill or makes a newer player able to sneak wins against people they really shouldn’t. It isn’t just this, it’s many shooters, Twisted Metal PS3 has this a bit too with undodgeable weapons. Takes away the point of aiming in dodging if the weapon simply won’t miss.
Anyways. People spent money on it so they’re allowed to play it. I must say myself, if Capcom vs SNK 2 had a good online scene I’d play it nonstop. Problem is the games we love the most generally have small online scenes if any. KOF is the modern fighter that plays most like the oldschool ones, but the online in it could use some work…
