What do you think of my team

Damn, thats sweetness:cool:

note: he’s beasting people ā€œbetterā€ than him with Vice/Chang because , well have you seen a Vice/Chang player ever? Exactly.
The guy’s getting people with Y-Tai-Yo so much, it’s not even funny.

I’ve also OCVd 2 People with Dhalsim, a low ass tier character.I don’t play Sim anymore because my CVS2 style of play changes weekly. I used to play sim when i was in the Turtle your ass off phase.

IMO Vice/Chang/Raiden are so underrated.

Hey, Raiden can be a bad ass. And Im assumeing he’s in A/S/K.

To tell you the truth, I think Chang sucks in S. His dodge attacks are weak and he has no RCs. But K, at least, gives him easy Lv.3s.

Oops, I actually meant A/P/K

changes

this thread has taken quite a change ( thx for the advice epsilon )
with death`s post,

playing odd characters isnt so bad, and chang is kick ass, learning matchups is good, knowing other player combos is usfel, checking out some other character specific forum than your own can come in handy on that odd match up.

but you know… ITS ALL GOOD! :stuck_out_tongue:

Everyone’s a copy cat of everyone. be original, allways find something new.

YES, PLEASE DO, CBS is stupid

CBS isn’t stupid. You’re stupid for losing to it so much. Calling good characters stupid because you lose is straight up scrubby. Use who you can win with is pretty much the #1 Rule of SF. Be it Sagat or Yuri, use who you are best with.

Having that said, is Yamazake, a good character to learn? I wanted to use him along with a female charatcer. I usually pic Mai, Maki, or Vice, but I’m still not sure who to pair him up with. Anybody got any reccomendations?

Yeah you can win with Yama.

He’s not top-tier though is he? Just curious, TondaShocka says Sagat could own Yamazaki easy, but I don’t believe it.

No, he’s not top tier, but he is upper-mid. I’ve heard Viscant saying that Sagat and Yama go about even, but I don’t know about that… I do know that he goes pretty well against Blanka though.

If you like the mix ups, Maki, runaway/zone/rushdown Mai, and if you can play vice, go for it. I’d perfer Mai because i think she’s top tier, she’s like a dark horse, she’s underrated, she’s also a little braindead easy to learn and use.

and CBS isn’t stupid. though i like to be original, i like playing CBS because they are just fun to play with. I don’t think beginners should go to CBS automatically because once u go to other characters, you will realize you are nothing without your high priority attacks. if you go the hard way, you’ll learn fast. Unless you really like CBS because of their looks or something, new players shouldn’t go for them. I suggest playing characters you like because of their character designs or fighting style. i used to be a CBS player until i realized that after looking at the SBO results, only Ino was the only one who used CBS in the top 5 or something like that, and every japanese player used freaking odd looking teams like Maki/Dhalsim/Rolento, Ken/Iori/Blah, Mai/Morrigan/Chunli??.

What i’m saying is, CBS and Team BAS is overrated, but it seems like everyone in japan has mad dexterity, i notice this from their vids, so i guess that it’s gonna be a bit harder to play with everyone else if you don’t have the mind games and the dexterity they have. but with practice, you can be like them or better.

Thanks for the info InVeRs3 and Epsilon. Yeah I kinda figured Maki might be good for runaway seeing as how one of her moves IS running. It kinda seems like a good way to pyche out the opponent by dashing very quickly towards then away. She’s got one special move that’s horribly hard to pull off that you have to do in the air. And even if you pull it off the opponent can’t be blocking. It’s a cool move, but not worth the trouble. But yeah I’m going to try and get good with Mai. I’m okay with Vice, but I can get a lot better. You guys got any special teams you use?

I kinda have a team for almost every groove.
C-Blanka, Chun, Sagat2
A-Sak, Bison, Blanka
P-Kyo, Cammy, Sagat
S-Don’t really have one…
N-Iori, Chun/Sagat, Blanka
K-Kyo, Sagat/Cammy, Blanka

No top player uses certain characters just for the sake of using them - they use the characters they do because they have something that they can do to win. Sim may not be top tier in CVS2 but he does have a few things that no one else can do, like pressure and guard crush the opponent from the other fucking side of the screen, if done correctly. He also has an interesting poking game in closer range, but I digress - the point is that he’s got something that no one else can do better, and if the sim player plays the match so he’s in a position to exploit that, he should be able to win with Sim in that circumstance. There might very well be some situations where Sim can pull off an easier win than Sagat - Sim players just need to find those setups out and exploit them. While Sagat, Sakura, Cammy, etc. may have more overall setups for victory, making them top tier, Sim still brings something to the game that they can’t.

That said, there’s absolutely no fucking reason to pick Ryo whatsoever. He’s a slow ass retarded shoto-clone with virtually no unique specials, shitty pokes, and his supers aren’t anything special either. If you want to play a shoto in A-groove, use Ken - he has a better DP, better pokes, is faster, and has an easier, better CC - or Iori (for the same reasons). If you want to be a little flashier, try Kyo. Seriously though, Ryo fucking sucks. There aren’t any situations where Ryo can win and Sagat can’t, unless your opponent is like ā€˜if you hit me with that retarded Crazy Hands attack, I’ll forfeit’.

Benimaru is different. While he does shit damage, he’s got an easy crossover, a few easy bread and butter combos, some decent pokes, a few decent CCs and decent enough supers that if you play the game patiently you can get some damage in. Thanks to his faster speed and higher jump, the only crossup who can really rival his is Bison’s. Furthermore, Beni’s c.mk can beat Sagat’s c.fp and several other pokes, his sweep can be comboed into his Raijinken super if you’re fast enough, blah blah blah…there’s certainly room to win with Beni. Not quite as much as A-Sak, but it’s there, unlike Ryo.

As for Yama - in the right groove, he can bring the pain pretty well. Range is crucial with him, though.

He also has a scrubbily fun roll-super game, because his two supers can get you almost regardless of what you do.

If you think using CBS is ā€˜dumb’ or whatever, because you lack brains, try the following characters:

Geese, Yamazaki, Kyo, Iori, Ryu, Chun Li, Ken, Akuma, Vega, Todo

These characters are competitive, and if you use them you won’t win consistently… I mean, you won’t be seen as cheap

I agree with what Mr Great said, too.

CBS isn’t even cheap. CBS is a little easier to pick up than other teams… but that doesn’t mean they are the be all and end all. Hell… I think Sagat/Blanka/Chun2 and Guile/Chun/Sagat are both better than CBS in C. Team Shoto is the bestest team:D … as long the opponent doesn’t have Sagat… hehe… then your just going to weather the storm… and hope you can kill off the other chars badly enough that Sagat is too far to make a comeback.

EDIT… Geese is very annoying char to fight IMO if you don’t have Sagat or someone who is a direct counter. Since he has a habit of dizzying way faster than people expect. One trip… and 2 crossups… and you are dizzy.

Yeah, and you stright up have a better chance of winning if you use CBS cause there top teir
And im not losing to CBS because werid anough no one uses CBS around here.
