clp 2x clk cod- i dont like to use cod as a block string because its not safe and unless you have meter to cancel it out you will be punished…and im going to post a video here that may help you with your FADC
No, there isn’t. With the Chun/Rufus infinites, the last standing jab hits on the second active frame instead of the first, essentially giving you +7 instead of +6. This only works on them though under particular circumstances, or after a counter hit standing jab
good stuff flash.how do you consistantly land that st.hp and cancel into the cod? i also play on a directional pad but im looking into a stick at the moment.thanks again man
are you talking about the f+mk s.hp cod or just the s.hp cod…well with the s.hp cod its just timing i know you said you dont use a stick but as soon as that first hit of the s.hp connects im done with my quarter circle motion for my cod…and if you were talking about f+mk just let me know cause it will take longer to explain…but practice makes perfect
I don’t understand how some of you can use online to practice? The timing feels different enough that I feel like I’m learning the “wrong” timing for things. When I go to play locally I’m way slower.
I guess you could use it to practice things like spacing, and anything else that doesn’t require such precision timing?
since my last post i started working the fadc alot more and seem to land it a bit more consistantly.the cod xx fadc crouch feirce into ultra or falling sky.i seem to miss it occasionally but work it in training mod as well as actual gameplay versus the computer.if you can offer any advice on throwing in that st mk and anything else you see fit.thanks again man
f+mk and s.lk are my best friend. when im using them correctly its no contest for my opponent and when im not the matcg is always alot closer than it should be. knowing how and when to use f+mk is key because it can get you in close very quicky to start a combo or start a block string to get a TT
the only reason i play online is because i only have one other person to play off line but online does suck. right now im trying to build a solid friends list of good players so that i dont have to play championship mode and player matches as much
1.Trying to land combos instead of just haphazardly going into a block string whether my first hit lands or gets blocked (Trying to get over “Scrub Hill” basically). This could be applied to any character I’m using of course.
Trying to get down s.hp/c.hp x CoD x FaDC x whatever. In matches, I’ll randomly hit the punch that goes into CoD too early and get a nice, slow c.hp which leaves me vulnerable. Also, sometimes my FADC will be too slow or I’ll accidentally dash twice or something retarded preventing me from going into the next part of the combo.
Trying to make XBL friends so I can get consistent practice against certain characters. I hate it when I play someone on XBL and my opponent just keeps changing characters. Doesn’t really give you a chance to learn the match up. (If anyone reading this that lives in California wants a new XBL friend, don’t hesitate to add me, no matter who you use).
Practicing staying calm and not worrying about whether I’m going to lose or win. Basically working on softening my ego.
Last one is just two little (but important things) I’m working on. Trying to tick into throws better (read: not mashing) and trying to be more conscious of my opponents meter.
its almost 1 am so whats left to do but look up one of my favorite forums? why do you like that st.lk so much flash? lately i been using it as shiro has i feel and doing several kicks to judge distance then go f+mk. you mean something like this?
yeah i use it to keep opp from getting in to close, and it also stuffs fireballs if you time it right. I also use it to bait dps since it is a very quick normal. its one of the best pokes in the game
well with me i have a few standard block strings that i use for example c.lk, c.lp, c.lp,c.lp, s.lk. I use this block string early in the match and get my opp used to seeing it, once they get are used to seeing the s.lk end the block string they try and do a dp in hopes that i miss time the link so once you get your opp used to seeing that block string start ending it with a back dash or by just blocking to bait a dp then punish. its not so much using the s.lk to bait dps as i said earlier, its just that the s.lk is a big part of getting them to whiff those dps
so at the beginning of a match flash what would you look for ? would you do a few st.lk's then work in that f + mk and work a T_T from there? lately i have tried to use a few cr. lks just outside of the lk landing as a opponent gets up to hit them with a cr.mk or cr. hk. this something similiar ?
all good stuff quickman.i have a simliar list myself.
1.i find myself using the same mindset and list of moves against my friends when i play.so i feel like i go on autopilot and my habits wont work against a more experienced player,
2.matchups as well.again in my circle of friends we all play to win so no one ever really branches out from their select few.
3.landing those fadc and working in variations
4.faster more consistant block strings as well and landing variations of them.
The main thing I practice is now is counterhitting pokes on reaction. I’l go into a matchup I have trouble with, have the CPU throw out their most used pokes, and try and see which pokes punish what best on reaction.
to start off matches i use s.lk like u said and then work in the f+mk but i usually dont tt. i have a bad habit of doing f+mk and then continuing my block string when i could just tt. but i usually try and do s.fp cod after f+mk and i even do it after a block f+mk some times because for some reason i guess people think that since f+mk is a 1 frame link that i will miss time it so they try to get a reversal in between my f+mk i dont like to do that very often though tt is usually the best option imo after a blocked f+mk. dont really use the sweep that much RARELY on wake up sometimes, and cr.mk is good to use on wake up when your opp thinks your outside of c.lk range like you said but use its sparingly especially against dp charecters.
