What do you practice?

Currently only working on these things, once I get really good at them I move onto different combos. I noticed I missed chances for the ultra so I practice quite a few fadc situations

f mk hp fadc ultra

cross up mk hp fadc ultra

neutral jump hk cmp mpcod fadc ultra

chp lk roll hp fs

I have to agree with HAV on this. Use training mode to test new stuff or test stuff on diff chars to see whether there’s a diff/learn the timing (e.g. timing of cr.hp ultra, which char you can/cant connect certain combos etc)… I do use training mode to practice BnB at times, and to practice my right side(my execution blows facing right)… thats about it. The rest is gained through matches again people.

p/s- havent touched my ps3 for almost a month now… damn school and the arcades LOL

lol me too i suck facing right

at the moment im practicing learning the different maps and what combination of perks is gonna help with my shitty killstreaks…

…yes thats how much ive practiced on streetfighter for the last month or so i really need to get back on the train but theres so many other games to play atm when i have the time…

Holy shit, man, is this (c.lk, c.lp, c.lp, s.mp - f+mk, s.fp xx cod - c.lp, s.fp - c.lk - s.fp) one link?

no… Three separate combos

  1. c.lk, c.lp, c.lp, s.mp

  2. f+mk, s.fp xx cod

  3. c.lk - s.fp

 you can mix them all together if you want
I’ll do c.lk, s.fp xx cod FADC c.lk, s.fp xx cod over and over again to see how many times I can hit it in a row… same with F+MK, s.fp xx cod FADC F+MK, s.fp xx cod then I’ll alternate between them and go back and forth across the stage like that

Usually I practice Abel’s BnB butter and pull them off consistently in the training room.In a real match my execution is non existent.I also have a bad habit of practicing my combos on the right side of the screen so when Im on the left side of the screen I’m at a disadvantage  so currently I practice back and forth to get rid of that habit :wgrin:

  1. c.lk, c.lp, c.lp, s.mp

  2. f+mk, s.fp xx cod

  3. c.lk - s.fp

thats all i do in training mode tbh

unless something causes me problems in the arcade ill come home and see what options I have

f+mk, s.fp, I’m finding that combo difficult at the moment.

Incorporating s.hk in mixups. Also sweep>mp cod is a weird mixup but workable.

It’s kind of redundant, if they block your sweep they SHOULD block your first hit of cod. Sweep -> wheel kick should be a better option since it overheads and you might catch them blocking low.

True but the fact that if i keep them blocking low, second high might catch them off guard as well. Both wheel kick and cod can be extremely punishable if blocked but thats the payoff with abel’s dmage output. If ex cancel is available, a possible TT is a risk people may take. Overall though, his sweep sucks. Lol. Oh abel, we need lariat and a dragon punch. Lmfao!

sweep xx wheelkick and roll are the best ones IMO. TT only works on focus users.

Yeah wheelkick may be the best choice, but like i said before, cod IS workable. Its a choice, sucky as it may be. Its just branching out. Anyway another thing i practice is aa ex cod to ultra. Cant get that timing down.

Right now I’m practicing abel’s infinite on chun li and rufus in training mode. the repetitive links improve my execution, and it would be great be able to pull it off in a match once i get it down solid

Love that infinite. Great way to run down the clock on a good rufus. Fuck the damage, its free meter and puts pressure on them.

To work on my fadc I just recently started putting my meter on infinite in training and then putting the dummy on auto block then I loop all my cod links for example start off with f+mk s.fp cod fadc c.mp cod fadc s.fp cod fadc c.lp s.fp cod fadc and so on. I just do this until I miss a link. Doing this really makes the bnbs with fadc pretty routine. Also been working on block strings and tt set ups. Still need to improve on aa and having the correct spacing in matches though

I like this thread!

Well, to begin I kinda warm up my fingers, do a bunch of rolls and command throws just to get my timing down (I use a pad for the lack of money, sadly) and then I start with cross-up combos for a while until I dizzy the dummy. Then I put everything on infinite and no stun, and I practice FADC’s with the CoD into ultra, and some anti-air stuff.

I stick to a few things every once and a while that I want to practice against actual opponents, since it’s hard to practice footsies with the CPU.

since reading this i have use the auto block feature and find myself landing more block strings consistently and working in the f.mk
what do you think of c.lp,c lp,clk into cod? or the same and ending in a lk wheel kick?
the goddamn cod fadc is going to be the death of me.
