What DLC character don't you want to see?

Well all right, I’ll give you that one. Most of the cast don’t seem to have paying jobs with the exception of Cerebella, Peacock, and Parasoul. Cerebella wears a uniform probably designed by lunatics, Peacock sports functional bloomers, and Parasoul… Well, Parasoul has no excuse. She runs a country, so I’m sure she can afford at least a pair of capris or something. Double probably take tithes from her church, but she probably… yeah… okay, Double’s off the hook too.

I’ve never ever said this before but, please, pretty please, go play SF.

Uh… all right. I mean, I play all fighting games, so I already play SF, but sure. If you’re trying to imply that the SF franchise has gratuitous pantyshots, I dunno. I don’t think Capcom fighters have a lot of that stuff. They’ve always censored their characters in their design. All of the Capcom characters that wear skirts also wear some kind of outerwear under them. Gym shorts for Sakura, spats for Karin (only skirt-wearing SF characters I can think of).

Actually, I think Rival Schools and Project Justice are the only exceptions.

So, basically, if girls aren’t dressing like nuns and any amount of skin that someone might find titillating is showing on them, it’s in bad taste?

Why is this thinking so common when it comes to this game?

First of all, you’re ignoring the fact that Alex designed the characters to be titillating, because he enjoys drawing girls and cheesecake artwork. He’s admitted this publicly. You can’t just pretend it was just some accident.

Secondly, you keep trying to twist my words into saying “If you’re showing skin, you’re a whore”, when I was merely (and repeatedly) saying that showing off your panties frequently is in poor taste. Yes, when I walk down the street and see a woman whose skirt is so skirt that I can see her underwear in a normal situation, or I see a woman with a thong protruding out of her pants, I believe that is in poor taste. Their tastes in closing and presentation are, quite frankly, poor. I feel the same way about people who sag in public. Basically, if I can see a significant amount of your underwear in a public place, that’s in poor taste.

Thirdly, why does it matter if it’s in poor taste or not? Just because it’s in poor taste doesn’t mean it’s bad or that it should be censored or ridiculed or what have you. I love the designs of every Skullgirls character and every character that’s up for vote with the exception of Adam, Anvil, and Regina’s face. I’m not looking at Parasoul’s mini-skirt and vilifying her for it. That’s just part of her character. She obviously likes wearing short skirts despite the obvious reasons why she probably shouldn’t, but that’s her character, and that’s fine.

I don’t have a problem with it, and it doesn’t seem like you have a problem with it either. Yes, I’m still going to say that wearing short skirts to a Skullgirl hunt is in poor taste, or at least a poor decision, but if that’s how they want to roll, that’s fine with me.

And to bring things back around, yes, D.Violet’s dick whip is in poor taste as well, but if she wants to use it, that’s her choice. It’s cool with me, and I think it offers an interesting glimpse into her psyche.

Dude, your defending a dick whip by saying that panty showing is in poor taste.

Do I really even have to argue about this.

That’s the exact opposite of what I just said.

There aren’t any characters that I upright just dont want to see, but the characters I want to see the least are:

Marie: She caused me endless pain in arcade mode…nuff said. Also I’m not fond of her design. Never had a maid fetish.

Umbrella: As much as I like Order Sol I just cant imagine having fun playing her. Neat concept though.

“True” Samson: Samson might be a ruffian, but he seems to be a decent dude. I want to see proper reason for him going apes$%t (Filia willingly allows it for a moment, Eliza pisses him off, alternate timeline version, etc).

Leduc: His gameplay seems decent but I like his original design waaaaaayyyyy more

Aeon: She’s cute and I like her descriptions and even her gameplay seems alright, butshe seems like an excuse to use scrapped moves. I just want her to have moves that depend less on other characters. [shrugs]

I want a storyline that works xD and i bet anyone else’s story will also leave painwheel with a happy ending as long as painwheel loses : P

Lots of baise for brain drain and venus. Hopefully neary everyone makes it in time I really doubt there are a lot of chartcers we would rather not be in the game even if extra. Like robo fortune.

No little girls
Umbrella, Marie, Annie, Hive, Minette, Juju

No V-13 characters
Venus, Aeon, Beatrix, Scythana, Brain Drain, Black Dahlia.

I was watching a Skull girls 9 player charity tournament recently and there was a Peacock versus Peacock mirror. The commentator said it best when he replied “Nooooooooooooooooo” on stream.

Let’s keep our Skullgirls free of projectile spamming, hype killing, little girl mirror matches.

Umm, what does V-13 mean?

Also, hive and Minette aren’t little girls.

v-13 is a reference to Nu from the BlazBlue series. A heavy zoning character who uses swords.

I think thebigbadwolfe just doesn’t want to deal with any sort of keepaway. Hence the Peacock mention and talk of “projectile spamming.”

Minette

  • Spending assets on Troll characters is pointless. Look how popular Modok ended up being. Also I don’t like the idea in general that a person who is totally ineffectual in combat is a selectable character. This only makes sense in story driven games where the character evolves and learns combat skills. Otherwise Minette has no place here.

D. Violet (depends)
-I dislike D. Violet’s theme but I can tolerate it. What rubs me the wrong way is that I’m getting reports that she is the alter ego of Ms. Victoria. If she isn’t an alter ego for that character then I’m ok with her in the game; otherwise I’m too annoyed that the secret identity character with more knowledge of martial arts than Neo is restricted themselves to such a weird fighting style when they don a mask.

Aeon, Venus, Samson
-These three fall into the same category of these characters are something I want to see in Skullgirls 2 and not as DLC. I enjoyed the various storylines in SG and I’m ok with the idea that each storyline was a reinterpretation of the real events. But I don’t think these particular characters who give more insight into the real story should be made available now.

Beatrix
-Crappy art design and annoying backstory. I love characters with countermoves but I can’t stand the style of this character. Do her over and come back with better packaging.

"Honorable Mention"
Isaac
-This character I’m voting for; but I’ve always had that feeling that even though the crew puts a lot of effort into making their characters special I feel Isaac could potentially be even more awesome, if his mechanics were thought through and experimented with over 1.5 years, instead of 6 months.

how is scythana v-13?

Ahh, ok. Thank you for clearing that up.

On a related note, people that think keepaway characters shouldn’t exist in fighting games need to shut up.

Now wait a minute. How is Sycthana a keepaway character?

Kind of? She has normals inspired by Dhalsim like Yoga Sniper and other stretchy limb attacks, so I guess it’d be fair to call her keepaway. But she also has powerup modes and lunge attacks. I don’t really know what to call that. Necro from Third Strike? Seth from AE?

I guess, but even then that’s a stretch.

Yeah, lame noob shit. Better have 100% rushdown characters! ChrisG is already ruining greatgame MvC3, we don’t want the same suckafucka in SG rite.

P.S. Lol @ Scythana being a hardzoner
P.P.S. That list lacks a bunch of defensive characters

Don’t shoot the messenger people! I actually wanted to edit my post to make my position more clear. But I couldn’t find the edit button. Anyway, I have no problem with zoners, and I actually think Peacock is arguably the coolest fighting game character ever made. However Peacock **mirrors **are not fun. Here is reference I was talking about. http://www.twitch.tv/kelter_skelter/b/381415031 @ 2:54:30 of this video. The only reason why I included Scythana was because Dhalsim was one of her character inspirations. Seth with only two of Dhalsims attacks could zone pretty effectively, so I’m not counting Scythana out yet.
