Generic, bald, military soldier/SPESS MEHREN protagonists who are either completely mute for no reason or have all the personality of a cinderblock and have literally no standout characteristics rather than being good at making things more dead.
I am really getting bored with the “I have a gun and a sword archetype”.

Wait… you hate grapplers but Abel is fun to play? and you consider Abel fun? As someone trying to learn Abel needing to chain a crouching heavy into a perfectly timed DP to deal good damage doesn’t feel fun it feels like a lot of effort, but that’s just me.
Abel isn’t as much of a grappler as someone like Gief or Hawk is.
They’re like a “pure grappler”, and Abel is like a hybrid of grappler and something else that I can’t quite put my finger on.
A circus clown? What with the rolling around on the floor like someone imitating sonic and spinning through the air like the pretty little french ballerina he is.
I should also add dumb happy characters. I like happy characters. I like characters who have fun (unless they’re attached to an annoying voice, which is sometimes the case). But I do not enjoy happy or cheerful characters who also act or sound like they haven’t moved beyond the mental capacity of a six year-old. Taokaka in particular comes to mind. Maybe it’s that coupled with the fact that some people call Hsien-Ko a Taokaka ripoff that makes me really dislike her. Felicia is also going the way of the common catgirl archetype, which is a bit of a shame because she was the only catgirl I could tolerate before.

Sim is friggin awesome. One of the first characters I played in SF2 since I didn’t know how to do special moves so stretchy arms/legs were the next best thing.
He’s been getting a lot of flak in SFxT though. Many people don’t find him appealing and he doesn’t center around combos like the majority of the cast. He’ll be focused on keepaway and people are gonna hate dealing with him…as usual.
