WCW was awesome. I really didn’t know what to expect considering this was the first serious gaming tournament I’ve ever been to. I remember feeling really nervous going into my first match (doesn’t help I was in Pool 1), but at the very least I’m glad I didn’t go two-and-out.
Thanks of course to John Rog, Kai, Gootecks and everyone else involved for putting this together, I know it was clearly no easy task and I think it goes without saying that we really appreciate your work.
I don’t have a lot of shoutouts as I don’t know a whole lot of people in the community, but regardless:
- Marn, I was one of the guys who was hanging out in your room with Vic. You seem like a really nice guy, so I hope you do end up moving down to SoCal. Best of luck with that! Congrats again on winning the finals.
- VictheSlik, a big thank you for all your help and for introducing me to people. Honestly. Some of your advice was stuff I kind of already knew, but the fact that you were there to remind me helped me pull through my first few rounds. I really appreciate it. Hey there y’all! This was my second tournament, first major. Needless to say, I peaced out quickly. I had my scrubbiness exposed fairly early. Also I drank wayyyyy too much friday night. I was the dude who basically bought half the pool party a shot and tried pretty hard to get Marn a drunk-er.

Big thanks to Jon Rog, Kai & the rest of the WCW staff on putting such on a great event. Everyone from San Diego definitely had a blast. Hope to see you guys come to SD for some Tacos El Gordo. Also here are some pics we took over the weekend.
Shout out to John Rog for organizing this amazing tournament and everyone else I battled in pool 1 or casuals. I thought it was pretty smoothly setup except for the delays. But i guess that was a good thing because it gave me the chance to get some casuals in a little longer.
Also, Marn, that was an epic post. You’re always welcome in CA. BTW, i was the guy in the white Vneck buying you shots at the bar Friday night. Good times , good times.
