"We're through playing around." Juri Combo Thread

these look so sexy…damn, nice find.

not to rain on this parade, but these combos aren’t new at all. these have been known since like within first month of SSF4 release. but it’s nice to post this up for newer juri users who weren’t around at that time.

I’m sorry for this, but i am new and actually couldn’t find a rubric for any of the terms you are using. so c.MK xx L Fuhajin (release), j.MP xx Shikusen, Fuharenjin/Kaisen Dankairaku doesn’t help me at all since i have no idea what j.mpxx is. If there is a thread can i be directed to it?

Jump medium punch. Xx’s dictate the move is cancelled to a special. Like c.mp xx sempusha. Would be the combo of crouch medium punch to sempusha. A > usually dictates a link. Like fuhajin low > c mk. Saying fuhajin low has to complete fully before you add the crouch medium kick

c.LP in the beginning deals a little extra damage and I felt like it didn’t push the opponent as far away (sometimes relevant when crossing up), so I use that.

lol i used something similar today in a ranked match, did it on the fly no idea it wouldve worked but it helped me mount a massive comeback i needed to win.

Basically i was against an akuma and he was in the corner, me at max range i did lk fireball release FADC to get a mixup, i jumped within jumping range and saw the fireball hit him…at which point i was like…nooo wayyy, so i did a j.mp xx lk divekick xx U2 and it all comboed together, i was so proud of myself lol…and astounded at the opponents stupidity. So anyway it would be:

Opponent in the corner, you at max lk fireball distance: LK release xx j.mp xx lk divekick xx U2

instant j.mp? Were they standing?

not instant i jumped in, but the combo Grammar mentions is indeed instant air j.mp, i wrote down who the combo works on and what your options are in the what works on who thread.

I was curious if I could full stun seth. Without the help of the intarwebs heres the combo I came up with. Apparently, theres an easier way, lol. I didn’t know i could hit the C.hp off a low fuhajin release. Thought I would be too far. Go Fig.

On super combos, you should add in close range heavy punch -> super. Close range heavy punch reminds me of Guile’s reverse sobat. You punish option select throw techs, and you avoid low attacks at the same time. The fact that you can combo into super out of it makes it all the more juicy.

I can’t believe that in the FSE combo list there’s still that risible combo which starts with an overhead but then use a normal which wiff on crouchers.

If you mean the ones ending in cr.HP, that’s character specific. For FSE combos people will want to refer to the Ultra I - Feng Shui Engine thread anyways, since its such a complex topic. This just lists the her basic combos.

More style than function but figured some would like it

I always wished juri had a cross up dive kick for something like this.

I always tried to fireball fadc dive kick over for a weird change in block. Never worked. :frowning:

i tried searching this thread but only found one instance of the word ‘meaty.’ i think i don’t know how to use the search function. can anyone point me to posts going over her meaty/counterhit combo options? on the first there’s only a couple CH combos listed and i find them very impractical.

I don’t think it’s been discussed much. I can come up with some stuff from the frame data, though.

From a meaty crouching LK, Juri can get up to +8, so she can link close HP, crouch MP, crouch MK, or crouch HP.
From a meaty crouching MP, Juri can get up to +7, so she can link crouch MP or crouch MK.

hm. ok. i guess the juri forum needs more attention from players that know stuff.

can anyone think of some reliable preparations to land a meaty senpusha after a sweep or something, as opposed to waiting and hoping it’s timed right?

i think the following works, can anyone confirm? after sweep, dash, lk whiff, cr.mp link into cr.mk xx any senpusha.

Dunno how I feel about that…

You can easily setup a meaty lk lp cr.lk with this:

Backthrow or Sweep > jump immediately > whiff j.something > lk, lp or cr.lk

It’s not a meaty on the first frame, but I like this setup since it won’t fail, when landing after a whiffed move anything you press will be buffered and come out after the landing recovery, making the setup accurate and easy.

It’s character specific, Adon wakes up slower on backthrow and faster on sweep for example.

It allows iirc st.lp>sweep, st.lk>cr.HP, cr.lk>cr.MP… St.lp will hit fuzzy on hit/guard some of the cast, worked on Ryu/Boxer but didn’t work on Juri. Haven’t tested it more since going for cr.lk has a higher chance to open guard.

It’s safe against slow Reversals (7f or higher for st.lk).

I tried meatying lk Senpusha’s 2nd hit a while ago but couldn’t get it to work, seems to whiff even when it should hit Fuzzy.

Edit: CH setup: frametrap with st.lk(blocked)>cr.lk(CH)>cr.MK xx EX Fuhajin(low).

that sounds a lot more useful than the crap i’ve come up with.

i think i got a meaty lk senpusha after a fuhajin store knockdown, but i’m not sure. can’t remember what i did, something like, dash, whiff cr.mp, then senpusha. maybe dash twice. i forgot because it looked pretty useless. it seemed meaty though, it was on hakan and he did appear to wake up into it but i couldn’t for the life of me FADC it to test if it would link into st.mp.

i think i’ll forget meaty senpusha and focus on the overhead. that would be a much more practical meaty move. can it link into anything other than st.lp on CH?
