[quote= ONE MORE LAST FINAL THING… REALLY: I’m thinking about cutting pool play intervals to 10 minutes. 12 Minutes just seems a little long. But a little bit of feedback wouldn’t hurt on that. So let me know![/quote]
Well after doing the math if all matches were to go the distance (99 seconds) you are looking at 14.85 minutes. So technically 12 is fine. For those wondering how I got that. If you go the distance per match that would equal 3 rounds. A maxed out scenario would be a 2 to 1 victory or a total of 9 rounds. Multiply 99 seconds times 9 rounds and divide by 60 seconds(to convert to minutes). It looks like we have many number geeks in this forum. I know when playing with Sim I tend to use more clock so I would say 12 is okay.
You all have been great! I just want to say that first and foremost. This adventure has been an incredible success and I hope we keep this up and going for a very long time. With the success of our first couple of events, I feel its time for the WWL to expand into what many in this thread (and personally I believe rightfully so) believe to be hostile territory.
We’re going to open up an a WWL spin off event for SF4. I know, I know, bring on the flame mail. But listen to what I’m thinking. This will be run in the same exact way, on Wednesdays and Thursdays. You people will have the first opportunity to sign up if you’re interested. SF4 will not get any more league points and it is my hope, that as this grows and some form of prize becomes a possibility (either through drawings, competitiveness, whatever) that in an attempt to increase their odds SF4 players will come back to play HDR. I mean the reality is, almost everyone on the forum, whether they like it or not, plays 4 because its what everyone plays, but if we can give people a reason to come back to HDR, then I think its a win for our community. SO, if you’re interested in signing up for the WWL’s SF4 league, send me an e-mail at worldwarriorsleagueSF4@gmail.com
I apologize for this intrusion on the forum, I just wanted to tell you all the news first before I posted this in the SF4 general thread. You guys are the best, and I know we’ll kick their butts!
Ok, so I just got word that the first Pre-Med Club meeting is today at 9:00 pm. I have no idea when this thing will finish up (plus I live 30 min away). So I guess I hereby forfeit my spot to the next guy (either Alex or PFW). Sorry, homies.
Also, I’m proud to announce our first SPECIAL HDR event, which will be held Friday evening, September 25, starting at 9:30 P.M. This will be a league point scoring event! So make sure you’re apart of it! It’ll have a little quirk so be prepared! Entry in this event is not presumed, please let me know if you are interested in the Friday event (we’ll have a special HDR event every other Friday starting on the 25th, participation in each must be announced to me no later than the Wednesday before!)
See? Now I like Jiggly a lot. He’s a smart guy, he knows what he’s talking about… but this is a classic case where you should read the thread… really…:lame:
J/K
That list is the list of the qualifiers for tonight’s tournament. You sir, qualified tonight and the tournament starts at 10:30 EST / 7:30 PST. (That’s 9:30 in Chicago… I know once you head too far up I-65 the lake breeze off of Lake Michigan can make you a little slow…j/k again) The winner of the double elimination tournament will be this week’s winner and will be the proud owner of 14 shiny new league points. We have pools on Monday to see who qualifies for the tournament on Tuesday. That’s how it works. Every week…
EVERYONE, IF YOU ARE AN HDR MEMBER OF THE WWL PLEASE ADD ‘WWL HDR’ TO YOUR FRIENDS LIST ON XBL. This is our dummy account which will keep all the member names of our participants in our HDR division!
I’ve taken the liberty of cleaning up the tourney spreadsheet a bit, so boxes for unplayed matches will stay empty until the relevant match has been played. It’ll fill itself as you enter results.
Just telling you so you don’t panic when you download a mostly empty chart. :china:
See? I get SOOO proud of myself, thinking wow, I had a great spreadsheet filled with awesome if statements… now, the programmer has to come and show me up… life’s not fair… j/k lol. Thanks alot Thelo for the help! Looks Great!
Don’t let a perceived lack of skills stop you. The more people we have, the more diffused the talent. And besides, the events are half of the fun. More people = more fun. That should include you!
